The Top 300 Greatest TV Shows of All Time: FBG Consensus: 50 Lists received. 69: Firefly (50 Viewers)

Whose Line was brilliant when Drew Carey was host. The banter between performers was great. I should check out some of the recent episodes, it looks like the 2nd run just ended.
You should check out the British version. I thought that was better and how I first stumbled upon it. Had many of the same players but the host didn't try as hard as Drew Carey and I thought he was better (not that Drew was bad).

I assume that the show in this ranking was the US version.

It is. One person voted for the British version. It did not make the list.
I treat them as the same show because they are......they just have different hosts. Most of the players are on all versions and they really make the show.

I think the average rank is off here. Shouldn’t it be 48.4?

90210 was surely a thing when it came out. The show came out and peaked during my high school years, and it was fascinating how everyone was watching it. The jocks, nerds, rockers, EVERYONE seemed to watch this.
I was just out of colllege when it started, so I was a bit older than the average demographic. But considering the actors were like ten years out of HS themselves, I felt more in place.

Yeah, I think I was just in a no-man's land as far as my age for 90210. My older sisters watched it but I wasn't interested, and it never seemed like something I was interested in visiting after the fact - like it had a time and place and that's it.

Yeah, they're the same show. Would likely have included it if I spent more time expanding my list to full length

I checked with @Scoresman before posting ...this one didn't make the top 300.

I made sure a quirky 2 "season" mockumentary from Netflix called "American Vandal" made my list at #68. It's a spin on the true crime docs and both seasons are set within high school situations.

The first season 2 HS "investigators" take on who really spray-painted the "phallic" symbols on almost 30 teacher's cars in the HS parking lot.

The 2nd season these two try and solve who in the school put a powerful laxative in the lemonade in the cafeteria causing a massive "brown out" across the entire school. The culprit calls themselves the "Turd Burglar"

Highly recommend for those who are fans of mockumentaries - didn't want to let this one slip by.

Season 2 promo
I wonder if this was inspired by the Community *** crack bandit storyline.

I heard about this show so checked it out. Changed it after 5 minutes and never went back because all the "Romans" had British accents. I may reconsider if MAX ever makes a Victorian drama where the actors all have Italian (or Jersey) accents.

Best sketch from the show....

Knew what this scene was before I even clicked.

I started watching the British version in high school when I could catch it and my brother and I were hooked. The host, Clive Anderson, talked so fast and was so understated but also funny. It had Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops and a few others who would transition to the American show, but also had a few standouts who didn't do the American version like Mike McShane and Tony Slattery.

My list did not have too many comedies, but this show was consistently the one that made me laugh out loud the most over the years.

It was hard to watch everything you wanted to back then - DVRs would basically only record what were actually watching at the time. So a lot of shows went by that I didn’t watch - a few of them I have gone back to over the years.

90210 was a huge guilty pleasure of mine.

I have watched the entire series three times?

The last 2 seasons were horrific but thise first 4-5 (season 1 was reallymhit or miss and then it hit it’s stride seasons 2-5).

This one goes back to my VCR days. I was working afternoons so I would record what looked like the best 2 hours of network tv that night. I can't remember the first hour but LA Law was always the final hour for the night.

My parents would tape LA Law on the VCR and I'd have all week to watch before they taped over it for the next one. Those were the days.

LA Law started on Fridays paired with Miami Vice, but ended up moving to Thursdays in 1987. The Thursday line-up that year was The Cosby Show at 8, Family Ties at 8:30, Cheers at 9, Night Court at 9:30, then LA Law with the hammer at 10pm.

In 1988, A Different World replaced Family Ties. In 1991, Wings filled the Night Court slot. Helluva run for the peacock... only to have Seinfeld land there once the other shows ran their course. Crazy times.

I was the high ranker for Veronica Mars at 16. Although the show does have some funny parts, it is not a comedy. It does have great writing and some great casting. I believe the show suffered getting viewers at the time because they did keep screwing with the format in the 1st three seasons. I definitely had a crush on Veronica so that helped.

90210 - I liked it enough for the first 4-5 seasons but after that, I felt silly watching it and hated to admit to anyone that I did watch it.

LA Law is the type of show I really like but I never saw it when it was on. I tried to watch it about a year ago and just couldn't get into it.
