It's an extremely weird position to take. I'm sure defensive coordinators are putting all of their efforts into stopping Trent, and letting that Luck guys try and beat them.

What else is he going to say to reporters? I doubt a phrase like- I am one of the biggest RB draft busts in NFL history is going to come out of his mouth.

It will be interesting to see what the Colts do with him next year. I doubt they cut him as he is guaranteed $3.2 million next season. Maybe they tell him to lose 15 pounds in hopes of regaining some burst and he is relegated to the #3 RB and plays special teams. Or they tell him to gain 10 pounds and convert him to a FB. At least he can block, can run 1 yard and has decent hands.

Ya for some reason the Colts continue giving Richardson touches. At this stage I don't know why they are not feeding Herron 15 to 20 rush attempts a game and just spelling him with Richardson. There should not be a split at all. Herron looks dangerous and the offence flows so much better when he is in there. Herron looks noticeably better than any RB the Colts have played this year including Bradshaw.

That said, the years are just for their first 3 years. Rhett played 7, Jabbar played 5, Russell played more than 3 as well. Didn't look up Franklin.

I don't get it either. The last 5 games, the Colts haven't looked that good. Since the NE game, they have won 4 in a row, but they were beating Jax 6-3 at halftime, they were beating the Redskins 21-17 in the 3rd quarter, they beat the Browns on a TD pass with 36 seconds left and getting a 4th and 1 conversion (by Herron) and beat the Texans by 7 (FG to make it 7 with 2 minutes left) even though the Texans had to go to their backup QB/rookie early in the game. The Colts aren't beating great teams lately and barely squeaking by undermanned teams who are 5-15 in their last five with the 5 wins being the Giants, Tenn, Jax, Atlanta and Cleveland.

So, why even bother giving him 43 carries to get 116 yards? In those last 5 games, Luck has TD passes of 79, 73, 73, 48, 42, 30 and 26. So, in basically 2 passes, Luck can get what it takes TRich 43 carries to get. Luck isn't getting those every play, of course, but you are getting 4.5 yards less in every run play to TRich that you can get from Luck or 1.7 yards less than Herron (or any other RB they seem to plug in).

At this point I am just flabergasted. How many times does it take until the coaches themselves get sick of Richardson? The fans and the entire world have already known this all year. Yet here we are in week 15 and every Colt back has thouroughly outplayed Richardson game after game after game. Indy will be bounced in the 1st round if they continue to trot him out there. He's nothing but a drive killer, 3 yards and a cloud of dust. It is painful to watch. Then you see Boom on the other side spinning and breaking tackles and generally running angry.

Does he have dirt on Pagano? Is the front office continuing to justify the move and overriding the coaches? I don't know what it is. Until they start losing, I don't think things will change. Unfortunately, by then, it will be too late for this year.

In all seriousness, that is why I avoided him like the plague. I may have been interested if he went way late, but every article about him working harder seemed to slip in the "I didn't really play badly" and "the defense is trying to stop me instead of Luck" type of comments. It always made me feel like it was just going to be more of the same and it was. He went 5.10 in a heavy 2 keeper FBG league, 6.1 in another 1 keeper and 7.3 in another. It looks like I selected Mike Wallace in 2 of those leagues right behind TRich, so no way I would have taken him that high.

My biggest regret in this thread is not recognizing my own statements that TRich wouldn't have a good season because Luck added a few weapons and had a healthy Allen and translating that into FF gold by realizing Luck was going to take the next step. I'm pretty sure I drafted Reggie Bush in all 3 of my leagues ahead of Luck choosing to struggle with QBBC in all 3. Damn you TRich and your ridiculous statements clouding the real info that should have been mined here.

I've said since last year that he should be a FB. He's a very good receiver and he'd have a role in the NFL. Starting RB is not it for him.

I don't think it is likely they keep Richardson and his 3.1 million dollar base salary in 2015. I think as long as they cut him prior to June 1st he won't count anything against the cap. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Wow...I spent the 1.02 to acquire him three seasons ago and thought he would anchor my RB corps for at least a decade. Stood by this kid through thick and thin until it became clear that the excuses were starting to pile up. Moved Trent Richardson and TE Larry Donnell for Isaiah Crowell. Thought maybe I'd given up too much. Then this comes out and I feel better:

Trent Richardson is listed as questionable for the Wild Card Round due to an illness.

This could be a convenient excuse for the Colts to phase Richardson out of their offense entirely, something OC Pep Hamilton basically did in last year's playoffs. Richardson touched the ball once in the Wild Card Round and three times in the Divisional Round. We expect Dan Herron to operate as Indy's lead runner against the Bengals, and wouldn't be the least bit surprised if UDFA Zurlon Tipton played ahead of T-Rich.


Yet another excuse for this guy's inability to generate any offense. Can his value get any lower? Anyone buying hoping that he goes Mark Ingram and figures it out? What the hell happened?

It's a stretch IMO. This guy is going down as a legendary bust. Incredible. I also completely whiffed on him. Never saw it coming based on his game and career at Alabama. Even his rookie year with the Browns...he was dinged up but ran very hard and had a nose for the end zone.
