Just reported on CNN:

Ryan Zinke under investigation by DOJ.

Something about improper use of his appointed position to personally enrich himself.

Drain the swamp!!!

Sorry, no link. Use the googles, lazy people. (Am I doing it right?)

The Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General has referred one of its ongoing probes into the conduct of Secretary Ryan Zinke to the Justice Department for further investigation, according to two individuals familiar with the matter.

Interior Deputy Inspector General Mary L. Kendall, who is currently serving as acting inspector general, is conducting at least three probes that involve Zinke. These include his involvement in a Montana land deal and the decision not to grant two tribes approval to operate a casino in Connecticut. The individuals, who spoke of the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly, did not specify which inquiry had been referred to the Justice Department.

I think the media coverage is negative because it’s well deserved. And I also think that some people may realize just how horrible Trump’s rhetoric has been, and how dangerous the consequences. At least I hope so. Guess we’ll see.
Trump could announce that his administration has found a cure to cancer and he would still receive negative media coverage.  Most of the coverage he gets isn’t “well deserved”, it’s ridiculously biased to the point of absurdity.

Well we disagree.

I will say, as I did in another thread, that I am uncomfortable with the disrespect being shown him in Pittsburgh. He may deserve it personally, but the office of the Presidency does not.

Almost everything Trump has done in his life seems to be controversial.  There's always something shady with it and seems to benefit him in some way.  He has a history of taking advantage of numerous people and everyone knows he lies constantly.  He deserve all the criticism he receives.

Maybe he shouldn't have turn the Presidency into what it is.  He has tarnished what the Presidency is.

In one thread you stated you believe he bears some responsibility for actions like what happened in Pittsburgh.  In this you seem to suggest that people should welcome him to the funerals and services.  Is that a fair description?

I have no problem with people refusing to associate with Donald Trump.  He has proven over the course of his life to be a con-man.  He, and he alone, bears responsibility for the diminished respect commanded by the office - it has slowly eroded on his watch, and by his own doing.

Respect is earned, not expected.

I'm not going to pre-judge his response.
Nor should you.  I just felt compelled to comment that my interpretation of his stated term left a little of room for loose interpretation.

Admittedly, I may not be able to be as objective on the whole Dodds thing as I'd like.  I've always really liked Dodds.  I pay for the subscription every year and only look at his rankings.  He's given me direct ff device on fb messenger.  I met him in Vegas once and he was super pleasant to talk to.  I'm friends with him on facebook and he posts nothing incendiary there. Back when I was a bit more, uh, self-focused on this message board he was always cool to me.

So, when he posted his conspiracy nonsense here (his own company's board) and backed it with such indignation, I think I genuinely felt betrayed.  Now, certainly, this isn't a real betrayal or anything and maybe I was more upset with myself for errantly considering such an intelligent and rational person, but I don't know how I can better describe it.  And it's probably caused me to cut him way less slack than I should.

I think your position is reasonable,  I'm just not giving up on him.  I think if he looks at all of this with reasonable eyes he's going to see he's been used and lied to.  But maybe I'm wrong.  Maybe he's aware of some reveal I'm not aware of.

This post has no factual basis whatsoever.

The only way Trump could find a cure for cancer is if he hid it in his tax returns

I encourage you to watch this 10 minute video... Admit it. Republicans have broken politics.

I simply ask, what negative coverage has the media given Trump that Trump has not invited? Trump tweets something crazy, media coverage on the crazy is "well deserved." Trump blatantly lies at a rally, the media covers the lie and corrects it. How is that negative? So, what has the media done in a negative way?

Yes it is. I was honestly torn on this question. Doesn’t matter now because it’s done.

But yeah I think Trump has disgraced the Presidency. But I also think the Presidency deserves to be respected by the rest of us even if Trunp is the guy that receives the respect. I recognize this is a contradiction. I haven’t been able to resolve it.

Meh.  Trump has no problem dishing it out.

Respect the office despite the man. Got it. Does this apply only to the Presidency, or all offices, or some offices?

For example, if your local mayor is a racist misogynist narcissist does he have your respect? If not, why is the bar lower for the trumpkin?

This whole passage is an example of what a disaster the current government is.

No.

Im not sure. I guess the Presidency is more important.

Yeah he could and you know what? It would be a lie like so many of his other announcements

Here's my opinion.  If the Presidency was so incredibly special then a man like Trump should never be there in the first place.
Yep.  We need to quit clutching our pearls.  Dignity took the last train out of town.   We aren't in a discussion here, we are in a fight.  Big difference.

"They are personally wounded and offended by this man.  He baits them.  And they dive in.  And what he's done well, I thought, is appeal to their own narcissism, to their own ego.  Because what he says is these are the -- and the journalists stand up and say, "We are noble.  We are honorable.  How dare you, sir?"  And they take it personally and now he has changed the conversation to not that his policies are silly or not working or any of those other things, it's all about the fight.  He is able to tune out everything else and get people just focused on the fight.  And he's going to win that fight."

Jon Stewart explains to CNN how Trump plays the press.

He calls me evil on a regualr basis because of my politics beliefs. HE CALLS ME EVIL. HE'S THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

What is this false flag business in the title?
When the mail bombs were first discovered, many conservatives claimed that the bombs were sent by Democrats as a "false flag" in an attempt to get sympathy for Democrats. Fox News was very prominent in promoting this theory.

Now it appears that this theory itself was a false flag by conservatives in an attempt to get sympathy for conservatives.

Yeah, the fact that CNN and others don't understand is indicative of just how far news has slid into being virtually indistinguishable from gonzo journalism.

Again, why Reuters is my news source, both in print and in video. You see how they handled reporting on Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, and then contrast it with most coverage the last few years with Trump... just a whole different planet.
