When I listen to right-wing media, anyone to the left of Trump is routinely called a Marxist, a communist, "the enemy" and evil.

Not sure I agree with that. There are probably plenty of non-maga Republicans that voted for Donald Trump because he was Republican. Having 2 viable parties really limits the voting options.

We have quite a few here who claim they don’t support him but voted for him. I think there are plenty in that that are not MAGA republicans and the context further looked as of he was speaking of lawmakers.

This is not a good definition.
IMO MAGA Republicans are those who agree strongly with Trump about his nativist and isolationist views, and also who believe that the 2020 election was stolen. The majority of those who voted for Trump in both 2016 and 2020 do not fall in this category.

And that includes a machinist in the Midwest who thinks that offshoring our manufacturing base to China was a bad idea. The guy who buys American, and the guy who believes that there should be an orderly, legal process for immigration. These people are semi-fascist and don’t deserve respect?

I worry the same thing. I worry for my parents, too, who are elderly. We need a stable government, not a radical reformist one. Ours is pretty good, despite its flaws.

That's not true. I know a lot of people who voted for Trump who are not MAGA Republicans. 2016 is a useless metric. If you are willing to vote for Trump after January 6th then those are the people he's talking about. I have no problem labeling them the same way. They don't care about democracy or their fellow Americans. They only care about maintaining power. **** em.

I'm not a Trump guy. I play one on the internet, but because I say I'm not a Trump guy you know I'm impartial.

MAGA is a nondescript term that means different things to different people. There are some well-intentioned, well-meaning, perhaps naive people who believe it to be what it actually is verboten - "Make America Great Again". We all know why Biden is doing this. He is trying to demonize anyone who supports Donald Trump. Some of those people should be demonized. But a lot more of them shouldn't. But hey - it's the hip thing these days to push the envelop, raise the heat, use inflammatory rhetoric, demonize large swaths of people. I know I am bucking the trend by calling it out, but only because I see it leading to nothing but trouble down the road. And for that I am called being on tilt and full of hate and anger.

In a vacuum, that's the right call, but coming from you it's ringing partisan and hollow. The axiom I've used lately is that conservatives' values require a "for conservatives" at the end of a sentence to reconcile with their actions.
You're a good dude so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is objective concern that disgusts you no matter who it's coming from, liberal or conservative.

To be fair, I'm talking about your several threads today. I can't say I disagree, but getting angry or upset isn't going to do much. We need to hold the people dividing us accountable. And that should start with Republicans holding Trump responsible for his divisiveness, but they can't seem to. In fact, they seem to enjoy it. So we're stuck with this. The Antifa left and the MAGA right. The sad thing is they deserve each other. Normal folks don't deserve their agendas. But it seems like they carry the day these days.

The main difference I see is that when Trump called anyone anything there were dozens and dozens of posts complaining about it here.

Vegas odds are not reflective of how America will vote. They're reflective of what people who gamble on elections think America will vote. This are two very distinctly different things.Vegas thinks otherwise.
