the veteran WR - which ones have value at current ADP? (1 Viewer)

These are the guys that nobody really gets excited about drafting, they kind of just fall to you. The buzz isn't there, but often the production is, and at a cheap price. Which ones have the most value at their current ADP? Which ones should you avoid?

Santana Moss

Hines Ward

Mushin Muhammad

Torry Holt

Derrick Mason

Donald Driver

Laveranues Coles

Chris Chambers

Joey Galloway

Isaac Bruce

Bobby Engram

Kevin Curtis

I like Ward and Driver the best from that list at their ADP.

Ward is still totally "the guy" that Roeth looks to when they HAVE to have a play, particularly in the red zone. He may not crack 1,000 yards, but he's as good bet for 70-80 catches and 6-8 TDs as any of these guys. Driver is running #2 to Jennings, so very rare he's going to see anything but single coverage, in an offense that passes a bunch. Like Ward, he's as good a candidate for those same numbers as anyone from this group.

After that I'd probably go Moss and Mason.

I'd avoid Galloway and Engram. I'm not that warm and fuzzy on Curtis either.

I've based a majority of my 30+ leagues on a WR core of Ward/Holt/Driver/Cotchery and to a lesser extent S Moss.. I see so much value in these guys.. Hopefully they come thru for me

Mason, Driver, Ward, Coles. Mason is a little higher on my list because Flacco's getting better while the receiver situation around Mason is getting worse. Add that to Mason catching everything thrown his way in the preseason, and I'm actively targetting him a round or two early to lock down a solid WR3. I would take Driver a little earlier, though, because I think you can get both Driver and Mason easily in the mid rounds. The only problem I have with Driver is that the backup receivers and tight ends are starting to make some noise, and that may take some catches away. Same thing goes with Ward and Limas/Holmes. I was a lot higher on Coles this offseason until Chris Henry started to look so good. Now I'm higher on Palmer and dicey on Coles. SMoss is not somebody I'm targetting - he seems to disappear for long stretches at a time.

I target these 4 only and I like them to perform in the above order. However, you have to draft them in this order:WardMossDriverMasonSince that is how they go based on ADP.

How is the bolded possible to manage or even fun? To answer the question I like Moss and Holt.

these are all underrated right now, especially Driver and Curtis

4 of them:

Driver

Ward

Galloway-I love him this year in some formats.

Curtis-Although mcNabb really spreads it around.

Love Mason with his current ADP.

ranked #22 overall last year and in some drafts can get him around #35.

i like Holt. seems like he's being very much overlooked. if his knees hold up, he could be the go to guy for Garrard.

Graham-

Having 30+ leagues is a chore, thats for sure.. Its more for the $$, than for fun I guess.. I had a point recently where I had 7 drafts and 3 auctions going at the same time.. Every draft is exciting til about round 8, and its downhill from there.. Talk about a drag drafting round 20 kickers on 7 different teams, lol

I think Mason (Clear #1 on his team) and S Moss to a lesser extent.

Driver should outpreform his ADP

Musty is getting no love this year and could way outpreform his ADP

Linehan and Holt had a major falling out last season and the Rams were a mess. The change of scenery in Jacksonville is just what the Dr. ordered for Torry. There has been a lot made about the condition of his knees, but it hasn't caused him to miss games recently. He's lost a step, but he'll be the WR1 and top target for Garrard.

This is an excellent wake up call to me drafting a WR in the third instead of going with another RB or QB ( QB's excel in the league I'm in).

I got Mason in the 10th in a PPR league. I was also able to grab....Jennings, Ocho Cinco, Brandon Marshall (6th rd) and Meacham (who is likely going to be dropped after week 1)

In PPR leagues, a guy who you can probably get in the last round but who could get a stack of receptions is Mike Furrey if he holds on to the slot receiver position, especially if Quinn and his dink-and-dunk style is the starter.

Dude, try and get out a little. 30+ leagues is just overkill.

Really like this group as well.

Specifically, Holt and Mason seem like locks to outperform their ADPs. Coles should pretty easily as well.

Who I am targeting based on their ADP

For guys like this, I tend to say "yes" if they are steady producers, playing with the same QB again and aren't returning from injury. Based strictly on those standards:

Of course that's not absolute... for example I have drafted Galloway this year, but I see no value in Bruce.Ward, Driver, Mason are clearly a cut above here and should go in the mid rounds. The best return on a low pick is Muhammad for me.
