The Yankees Pitching Problems Just Got Worse (1 Viewer)

Carl Pavano has been scratched from his scheduled start Saturday against the A's because of what the Yankees are calling an "arm problem."No further details have been given yet, but Darrell Rasner fill start in place of Pavano.

Hughes gave up 5 runs in 5 innings the other day too, so he's not quite ready yet. Sanchez is on the DL as well.

Wang is returning at least.

And in other news . . .the sun will rise tomorrow.
 Silly Muts fan.
Mussina's hurtWang's hurtPavano's hurtWho's left? Igawa? If anybody is using Yankee middle relief for holds you'll get about a month of production out of them. After Torre abuses them like rented mules they'll be done by the All Star game.Maybe they can call either Erik Plunk or **** Tidrow and see if they're available.

I wouldn't put much stock in one outing. Why not bring him up? What's the worst that can happen? You can blow your arm out just as easily in the minor leagues as you can in the bigs. Is he going to fall apart if he gets shelled a couple times? It certainly didn't kill Bonderman's career.I'd put him on a count of 100 pitches and send him out there. He certainly has the stuff, and from everything I've heard his mental makeup is fine. I can't imagine he'd be worse than Igawa.

Just because a guy gave up 5 runs does not mean he's not ready.Santana lost last night - gave up 4 runs. Maybe he should go back to the minors.

Honestly I dont see why the Yankees are being so careful with Hughes for. Theres no reason they cant call him up for a start or 2 while they wait to get their injured starters back. Its not like once hes up hes cant be sent back down.

Or they can call up Clippard or Ohlendorf. Or even some guy I was reading about in the Post, I think his name was Chase Wright or something. He threw 2 games in AA and struck out 18 guys.

Way to compare an unproven rookie to the best pitcher in baseball. :lmao:
If you don't get my point, then explaining it to you won't help you either.

For all the talk of the Yankees bad pitching its been damn solid the last 4 games. ANd their bullpen minus Farnsworth has been unhittable.

well, walking two while striking out only one doesn't help either (Hughes).

 Farnsworth would look great in a Phillies uniform. :o

Baseball Tonight throwing dirt on Rivera, ouch.
Rotten, rotten, back breaking loss, but these BBT guys are clowns. I just saw the game crew saying Rivera would be unavailbe tomorrow. Do they even watch the games? He only pitched the eighth because he had 5 days off and he threw 14 pitches. He was off tonight and thats that, but if the studio crew is suggesting he's done, they're crazy. Command was the problem, not the velocity. I haven't seen him get so many pitches in the middle of the plate.
