Think Reggie Wayne is making a point? (1 Viewer)

Reggie being Reggie.

I think a lot of people are sleeping on him this year as I see a lot of the rankings for him slipping to that 13-17WR range. probably because of his age.

But its almost always been like that for him; always ranked a bit lower than what he produces, even though he's been the example of consistency.

Probably a 6-9WR this year.

105 and 1 in the first? Clearly making a point that Painter should be starting and I agree.
I see what you're saying, but Reggie doesn't call the plays and he doesn't decide who to throw it to. I think Painter is smart enough to know who the most reliable WR on the team is - and throwing it to him = good statline for Painter.

The majority of his production came on a 57 yard TD on a blown coverage with no defender within 15 yards of him. That's hardly him proving a point.

So without that play he would have only had 48 yards in the first quarter?
No, he had 0 yards in the 1st quarter. I guess he must have been proving a different point then.
Even still, the first half. Whatever. Wayne produced very well in limited time in that game. Trying to dismiss one long TD and pointing out that he had no catches in the first quarter doesn't really change that.

Not saying he didn't produce, but attributing it to him trying to prove a point about Painter/Collins is ridiculous. If Collins had thrown that long pass when he was wide open, what was he going to do, drop it on purpose?

Was thinking that this whole time.Just didn't want to say it.
