Thinking about throwing away my dragon dice (1 Viewer)

Are these even called Dragon Dice? I've got 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 20 side dice here.

The 20 sider will be especially tough to part with.

Why throw them away? Get creative. Drill holes in them and string them up. Hang the string by your bed for those special evenings when you put on a steamy movie and get in the mood to...

...you know....

...give your wife a necklace.

Nope, they aren't. They are just ordinary polyhedral dice.Dragon Dice is a completely different game that is very specific.

I see.

I could use a 20 sided dice for my classroom, like calling on someone to answer.... or playing a review game.

I forget what a :nerd: you are.

I'll buy your dice. I have great use for them. It would be fun to roll Mr. Pickles's dice while playing. (not a euphemism)

I still occasionally make drinking games using my remaining dice. I think the d8 and the d20 are all that survived the umpteen moves since I last played D&D in the mid 80s.

I still have a factory sealed Dragon Dice PC game in my closet.

I see you've earned your gamer title, steve.

I am very excited about receiving these dice. I already have many dice, of course. But I think it will be fun to roll dice that once belonged to Mr. Pickles. It's like the difference between having a cool magic item and having an artifact.

I will use this thread after each session to report the dice performance.

I have the same, in a velvety bag that's in a desk at my parents house, in what used to be my room. I have to go there today for my sister's birthday. I think I'll grab them, now that Pickles made me all nostalgic, and stuff.

Did you already throw away your Monster Manual?
It was all about Deities & Demigods, aka. the picture book version of Hamilton's mythology.
Depends on the version you have. The one with the Cthulu mythos or the one without?

I am pleased to announce that these arrived today. They're so wonderfully disgusting. I am 100% confident that these are authentic "old" D&D dice, since no modern die-making company would craft something so beautifully primitive.

I have before me a rainbow of dice. A multi-coloured set! Unheard of today! I feel like cross between Plato and the Lucky Charms leprechaun. Red tetrahedron, orange icosahedron, yellow cube, blue octahedron, purple dodecahedron and grey whatever-the-hell-the-ten-sided-one-is-called. The remnants of old ink marks to make the numbers stand out still exist... a true connoisseur would have used crayon, but we'll let that slide.

There are no sparkles or fancy runes or swirling multicoloured resin. This is monochrome plastic of the most basic kind. How deliciously nostalgic.

Now I can only hope they roll well. I look forward to using them at my next session. But now I also need a new crayon.

I also found out that Mr. Pickles isn't from where I thought he was from.

Upon further inspection, the ten-sided one is actually an irregular icosahedron. There are the 10 big sides that it can land on, but then 10 little triangular sides in between the larger sides in order to make it a solid object, but there's no reasonable expectation of it ever landing on one of them.

This is the most bizarre 20-sided die I ever seen! Most modern 20-sideds are numbered with the numbers 1-20, as you'd expect. This one has the digits 0-9 only, twice each! Neat! Mr. Pickles has fortunately gone over one of the sets of numbers with a black pen and the other with a red pen to make it a true d20. But I've never seen this before. These truly belong in the nerd museum, if there were such a magnificent structure.

They were pretty common. They were from the really cheap sets. I have severalAnd yes, that is several. When I saw this thread, I pulled my dice box out of the closet where it's sat for years. I didn't snap a picture, as I'm easily distracted. However, I just did, so ... Here is the box. Included in the box are a very worn 30-sided die and 4 glow in the dark 10 siders.

 :excited:

BTW, we used to use a crayon to fill in the numbers on the die. The wax fills in the grooves nicely and the excess wipes away. Much neater than a marker. :excited:

Dang it. I wish I had a dice box...... :sadbanana:
