This is my last year drafting X (1 Viewer)

For me I think this is the last year I take a few players.

1. Willie Parker. If he does little I'm not drafting a 30 year old RB with back 2 back bad seasons. If he returns to a quality RB and has 1300 + 8 I won't be drafting a 30 RB with an injury history where he will likely go next year (unless he pulls a TJ from this year and plumets despite a good season).

\

2. Randy Moss- big year means he will be the #1 WR on to many people's boards next year- at an age where he will be at most 2 seasons away from slowing down.

3. LT. Pretty much the same as Moss- big year means next year His tag will be to high.

anyone lese thinking about next year already?

Wait... you wouldn't draft Moss next year because he's not quite old enough to be slowing down? I'm not quite sure how that works. If Adrian Peterson blows up this year I won't touch him next year because he'll be at most six years away from slowing down...I'm not willing to say that this is my last year drafting anyone. I only draft people whose talent I like. There are some players who I definitely wouldn't touch next year... but the thing is, I also wouldn't touch them this year.

Larry Johnson. I tried not to pick him this year, as I had him last year and he wasn't much help, but DD had him as the best pick at my 4.12/5.01 pick, I passed. Nobody picked him in the 5th or 6th round, so I finally bit the bullet and picked him at the 6.12/7.01 pick. I know he is value there, but I hated the pick when I made it. I will try not to pick him again.

Randy Moss is the #1 WR on many people's draft board every year. And deservedly so.

Ronnie Brown.

I'm already having buyer's remorse on him as my RB2... My gut feeling is that I'll want nothing to do with him by this time next year. He has a whole year to prove me wrong at least.

Terrell Owens.

I made a deal for Desean Jackson so I can make that transition as the year goes.

AT MOST 2 years from slowing down imo, he will be in the slowdown age range pretty solidly next year and the extra 10-20% chance that is the year his decline starts is enough to drop him down in my rankings.

I've been able to get him as late as #17 as the 4th WR off the board- if he returns to form like i hope this year (1300 +15 or so) he won't be available anywhere near that next year.

These aren't really rules- just thoughts about next year that happen from time to time.

Miami ran the wildcat better than anyone last season. I think Ronnie Brown has a great year, making his ADP too high next year when the offense struggles because defenses figure out how to stop the wildcat.

It depends where you can get him. You should never, ever cross someone completely for your board, because that player is always good value somewhere. And personal reasons don't count (dog fighting, etc.). Either you're hardcore or you keep having fun in your aquarium. I'll be busy swimming in the sea.

I guess I can't answer this question until some games are actually played.

My draft was yesterday and I'm pretty sure I'll never have Cedric Benson on my roster ever again. I really hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling he's going to make me sick.

On a different roster, I'm thinking Joey Addai will make me miss Fred Taylor's hamstring.

Clinton PortisAfter this year, I think he's a wrap. Too many carries....
He's on essentially the same carry pace for his career as most of the great RBs (Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, LaDanian, Edge, etc), most of whom have remained productive at least to 30 (Portis is 28 this year). I think the carry concerns surrounding Portis are overrated.

Terrell Owens...he's getting older, I don't like his situation in Buffalo (O-line, weather, etc...), and I can't stand him (SF fan here)...

...but when he fell to the fifth round in our 12-team redraft, I couldn't really NOT take him.

Why not? I can't answer it with absolute certainty- but I can look at Parker and say "if he has a big year his stock will rise above where I would take him, and if he has a poor year I can be pretty sure not to bother with a 30 year old rb with 2 bad years in a row" The only iffyness is if he has a not great but not bad enough to write off completely year.

I don't factor in the age as much as how much he gets nicked up. His style of running in comparison to the other great RBs that you mentioned is the big difference, imo. Portis has taken a lot of abuse over the years and I expect this season to be the one where he declines. This is based on a gut reaction more than amount of carries, age, or any other stat. I get the same feeling about Portis that I did about Rudi Johnson before he fell off a cliff. A lot of fantasy football for me personally is speculation and Clinton Portis to me is a sell.

I'll prob add Roddy White to my list after this year. Another gut feeling. I'm going to try to trade him during the season as well.

Aaron Rodgers.Because after he goes bat-####-crazy this year he will be securely in the 1st round for he next 6-10 years. And I dont draft QBs in the 1st round.
:boxing: He somehow lasted to me until 4.4 in a ten team redraft, that's the last time that will ever happen.
