I have watched a good amount of Jones in both games. He looks to still have the burst, and in the GB game he was one tackle away from ripping off a 20 yard TD, and the burst was there. The D's are still keying on the running game, and rightfully so with their reputation. But, there has to be a new game plan in store and Jones should benefit. The days of 8 in box have to be coming to an end, and Jones should bust out soon! GB obviously game planned for running game, and Detroit probably thought Rex was a one hit wonder and also did the same. But, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, and shame on me. I expect defenses to focus much more on pass than they would have in the past.

I would still dare Grossman to beat me and focus on stopping the run. Green Bay and Detroit don't have much in the way of a secondary that you sit by itself while you sellout the run. I suspect Minnesota does.

But seriously, how long until Benson starts? He can't be on the bench forever as a second overall pick.

one of the biggest surprises to me in the first two weeks has been that the Bears are struggling in the running game.

He's getting his chances to carry the ball but he's not taking advantage of them. Benson is destined to be a career backup and nothing more. The argument that he fits Chicago's offense better than Thomas Jones does is flawed, I watched the first 2 Bears games and Benson looks like he has no initial burst, he's had a very tough time finding a hole, and he's not as powerful a runner as some believed he might be, he's average at best in every area.

Ron Dayne redux.
