Talk about a buy low. I can't believe he will suck this much ALL year and you should be able to get him for a very low cost. He still has great upside if the Jets can get going.
I traded Derrick Ward and V Young for Hasselbeck and Thomas Jones on September 19th thinking that Jones would do well against his soft upcoming schedule and Ward would be RBBC at best when Jacobs got back. Thomas Jones has done absolutely nothing while Ward went off and still looks like a #3RB with Jacobs back.
If I tried to trade him now I doubt I could get Leon Washington for him.
Waiting to hear back on an offer for Kevin Jones. If that doesn't pan out, I'll probably go after Thomas, I wouldn't be giving anything critical to my team anyway. At least he is the starter, which is more than I can say for anything on the wire.
Jones definitely has upside, especially if Clemens comes in as QB. Honestly, defenses are just stacking it up against the Jets, and not only because of the run; they know Pennington can't get the ball downfield, so they clog the run and pass lanes in close. Clemens would actually be able to go over the top of a stacked box, so teams might be forced to back off a bit. In Clemens' game against BAL, Jones had a number of nice runs; it's just that the Ravens' front 7 also swarmed him for some tough losses.
Pennington's supposedly on a short leash this week. If he gets yanked, TJ could start to produce a bit better than he has of late.
Good stuff. His purpose would be to start against teams like CIN, BUF, MIA, etc, unless he became consistent. For the most part, he'd be a matchup fill-in, so sounds like it's worth a chance.
Funny, I was thinking of making an offer for him also. I have Lamont Jordan and was thinking of offering him for T. Jones in the hope that Clemens comes in and keeps defenses honest...
I have started him the last 2 weeks and he is absolutely killing me. Everytime I turn it to the game,Leon Washington is in. I know he has another game w/ Buff coming up but they looked awesome against Dallas which has me concerned.

I think this is the real Thomas Jones. Look at his career, he had 3 good years in Chicago but was nothing more than what he is now his first 4 years. I think he was more a product of the Chicago system.
The problem has been a combo of OL, QB and play calling issues. All week Mangini got bashed for giving up on the run too early. I expect TJ will get the rock this week
I can't keep saying he is a great buy low - but - I still think it!
If you are looking for a RB that you can get on the cheap - he will eventually get 20+ carries a game and all the GL carries - that has value to me - especially since his schedule gets easier.
