just curious those who read the DYNASTY WATCH stuff each week in the paid section

is it me or this year its gotten a little less " DEEP "

my understanding was that the article was a " tool " for deep players ..

example last year Andre Hall before A.Hall had hit the " hype " machine

or

S.Hill ( pre him starting at the end of last year )

i believe D.Rasario was even featured once ..

but this year .. guys like

Wr-M.Jenkins - a former # 1 rd pick -- deep ?

Qb-D.Stanton - pretty much rostered in every league .. period ..

last week

Qb-Chad Henne

D.Sproles ---

T.Hightower ---

my piont is that it seemed in years past the players that were featured were really obscure DYNASTY FLIERS .. which even in the deepest of leagues woudl possibly be available ... and even if they werent ... it would make a interesting read ..

but I am pretty sure Henne and Hightower arent considered DYNASTY " Fliers " in many leagues ....

i would think guys like

B.Cottam, Ingle Martin, Danny Ware, L.hawkins, Paul Williams, I.Stanback, C.Simpson, Qb-C.Hanie would be more of the bottom of the barrel could be a wonderful stash in dynasty league type guys .... that a article like dynasty watch would be for ...

just wondering if anyone else had noticed this .... DO NOT TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY ... i love the work that FBG does . and in no way am i trying to complain .. just wondering if there is a reason why the " deep " part has gone away to more main stream guys

 I was thinking the same thing. Not that I dont appreciate the work you guys put into it but some of the guys you fellas mention are roster or it is a week too late. Come on guys its time to step the game up. ;)

I dont participate every week, but I'll definitely keep this in mind for my future contributions.

Of the guys you mentioned...Cottam is an excellent stash. Think Leonard Pope, but with agility. Of course, Carl Peterson's shenanigans with Gonzo is hurting his immediate opportunity. I wonder if Gonzo can force a trade in the offseason. Cottam would have been a much higher rated prospect if he could have stayed healthy in college - he's had a myriad of surgeries and missed more time than he played in college. Martin is a strong arm QB, but if he can't get a look over Tyler Thigpen, something is wrong. I like Luke McCown better - wrote him up last week. I'm trying to get the word on how Charlie Whitehurst is developing in San Diego - weird to hear so little about a 3rd round pick. He'll be a FA after next season, and Volek is under contract through 2010.Ware is definitely one to watch - a guy who doesnt get playing time, but is still jealously guarded by the Giants when teams ask about him in trade talks. Gotta watch out for these Georgia backs who split time throughout their career - see also: Lumpkin, Kregg and Brown, Thomas in 2009.I really like Hawkins, and I'm beginning to give up on Williams. Hawkins problem seems to be mental mistakes in practice, but he'll get over that.Stanback and Hanie's windows have slammed shut, although Stanback is a sick athlete, and one to watch if he ever "gets it" as a WR.Simpson is an interesting scatback/speed/returner type who might flourish on the stretch play, but Dawson knows the offense and is probably the better short term pickup.

:goodposting: I appreciate all the work too but prior years seemed more diamonds in the rough type players

Sig -- thanx for the quick run down from my quick list .... agree with almost everything you said .. I do think Caleb Hanie might get a couple more looks though next pre-season and we might be talking about a Matt Moore type rise from # 3 to a very interesting dynasty stash ....

and I want to follow up again by saying .. I appreciate the work the contributers do .. just seemed to me ( and i guess others as well ) that this years " diamonds in the rough " were " lacking "

time to get back to the ROOTS of dynasty stash type articles...... all # 3 depth chart guys ! . LOL

for the record, Bloom's stuff rocks...

the Dark Phoenix (not sure if that was his) from previous years, was killer too...

I would like to see a dynasty article, written on the premise of "who can I pick up on waivers, this year... that may be something next year... not the Michael Turner types.. but discussion on (as another poster said ) DEEP or REAL deep reaches..

Henne, Josh Johnson, Sanboy said it too.. the #3 guys that may "Bloom" pun intended

Dark Phoenix was Lammey I'll try to include a few guys like this in Buy Low Sell High every week too.

Sounds good BLOOM

and yes I realize talking about Ben Jarvis Green -- is not for everyone .... no one in their right mind is going to invest in a redraft or a 10 team yahoo type league

but deep dynasty .. he is a perfect stash .. MISSI was horrible when Green was there .... but he is a shifty runner with power ... and it only takes 1 godo game to put him on the map .. for EVERYONE ..

Bloom --- 100 % agree with you on Danny Ware as well .. i actually thought there was a chance he might get moved ALA RYAN GRANT this year .. but with GRANT exploding it doesnt surprise me the Giants are a little gun shy on dealing him ..

he looked good this pre-season though

I will keep those players in mind and am always open to suggestions (on this or other articles). I usually try to put a mix of players since there are all types of dynasty leagues. Below are the total players profiled going into week seven. I was the one that had Jenkins, as well as Chatman and Stanton this week. I can say that even for the most "obvious" of players for some leagues are not for others. Miles Austin, Garrett Mills, and Stuckey were not on the fantasy radar at the time. Stanton in week four, Henry in week six, Henne and Fred Jackson in week six are guys that were known but not on every roster. Henry, for example was on many waiver wires on that week. Fred Jackson was dropped in one of my leagues that week. I usually try to gauge who I write by if players are rostered in my leagues. Hope this helps. Let me know if there are any questions or suggestion looking back or ahead.

Jeff T ---

No means was I trying to " be-little " your work ... and I am certain you are just " writing " about players that you feel would be interesting ...

my piont was that , right or wrong , was that the article was for the " deeper leagues " ... those of us in high roster leagues looking for the next

SAMKON GADO - RB from years past or posibly BRANDON LONDON - WR from this year ....

I am sure there are leagues where D.Stanton, Henne, Fred Jackson arent rostered ... but those are most likely " keeper " type leagues ... or maybe even redraft

I dont know many deeper leagues where the likes of C.Stucky, F.Jackson or C.Henne werent on the radar

if nothing else Jesse Chatman should have been on a radar 4 years ago ! ... and i am sure after the splash that Fred Jackson made last year that most people who are using the article for what its meant for know who he is as well

Love the effort ..... love the open-ness of ideas .... and thats all i wanted to personally bring to attention .. that this is one of the FEW weekly articles that could be GEARED toward the real DEEP DYNASTY LEAGUE TYPE OWNERS .. and to do that .. deeper and less known players would be much more interesting ... ( but this is also a disclaimer that 90 percent of the players mentioned might never make even a splash )

for every Pierre Thomas .. there is a J.Payton .. for every M.Colston there are many ONO OJO 's and Alex Bannisters ...

Anthony Mix coming out of Auburn ... hooking up last year with the SKINS with his old QB from college CAMBELL .. looked like a great dynasty stash .. good size... repor with Cambell .. and it didnt go anywhere .. BUT if this was last year .. this is the type of # 5 Wr that would be great to read about and put on the radar ..

Both Jacobs and Ward are free agents after this year and the Giants will not keep both of them. At the worst, Ware would play the Ward role next year.

looks like the digging has gotten back to the roots

D.Savage from last week was a great DIG DEEP ....

Stupid question time. But where is the Dynasty Watch, I did a search, but did not come up with a Forum, Blog, etc.

Can someone direct me on how to get there?

BTW - I am a paid member

Thanks

Chris

Left side of the page under Wednesday. Though it was on a Thursday once.

i dont know if J.Morgan was a real deep sleeper ( from last week ) though

another good one i personally think has a little chance

Rb-C.Washington - Jax ( former USC )

timed 4.4 at pro day .. but i never saw that on the field watching him ...BUT he does run with power.. and is built much like F.Taylor .. and i could see Taylor gone next year and C.Washington possibly .. possibly take over the POWER ROLL on that team

only problem i have is he is this will sound bad .. but DUMB ... having been academic probation twice in his college days ...

I agree on Ware. I was upset the Jets let him get away. That being said, I think I remember him getting arrested or a run in with the law - is that an issue at play here?
