Marshall is always open even when someone is on him because he breaks towards the ball instead of letting it come to him. This is ridiculous. Why force the ball? If he is not getting open he is not getting open. Watch the picks pour in for Cutler as they try to appease Marshall and "get him the ball".
If healthy he's a WR 1 the next two yearsHow do you guys see him aging with Cutler. Is Marshall still a WR2 in PPR the next 2-3 years?
Unless there's a CB levitating where he high points the ball, he's open. This is ridiculous. Why force the ball? If he is not getting open he is not getting open. Watch the picks pour in for Cutler as they try to appease Marshall and "get him the ball".
My thought is he's benched until he shows he's healthy and produces one healthy stat line.Thoughts on Brandon Marshall
You've got balls, man. Benching him when the coach says they need to get him the ball more and he's healthy after the injury should have kept him out 4 weeks. My thought is he's benched until he shows he's healthy and produces one healthy stat line.Thoughts on Brandon Marshall
Yeah I saw that. Do we know he's healthy? You've got balls, man. How long has it been since his injury? At least 3 weeks, Maybe 4. I also doubt the coaches would want yup get the ball more to a guy who's injured.Yeah I saw that. Pretty much this, especially the bolded. I think the coaches saw something on film during the week that they wanted to exploit. Didn't lead to a win, and no reason to think the gameplan would absolutely be the same for Atlanta anyway. He was moving noticeably better week 5, the targets just kept going to Forte, possibly due to the game plan. Note they lost that game. Game plan for Atlanta is to get him targets according to the coach speak. I would trust it and start him
I can't remember, does Revis play on one side of the field in NE or does he move around?Does he or Jeffery get put on Revis island this week?
Revis will get Marshall this week. Same way Revis got AJ Green a few weeks ago, however shut him down. Only points came on the very next play after Revis left the field. http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2014-10-06/darrelle-revis-aj-green-new-england-patriots-cincinnati-bengals-score-highlights-stats-numbers-matchup-winnerRevis Island seems a little overrated to me. I am not looking at numbers, and maybe the stats will tell a different story, but from what I have seen this season, he does not look anything like he did in his Jets days. I've noticed him gettign beat a few times this season (which almost never used to happen), but specifically I saw Mike Wallace beat him repeatedly...and not get any help from Tannehill, so the stats sheet will not tell the full story. Despite Tannehill, he did beat him for a short TD that day. Had him beat for long ones 2 other times.
Long story short, Revis' presence will no longer make me contemplate benching a stud WR.
Bears homer here. The problem is a mixture of game plan and Cutler. When the Bears run the ball well the entire offense does well, especially Cutler and Marshall. When we abandon the run our offense is inconsistent and Cutler can go on tilt. Our O-line really isn't that good either so when teams know we are passing Cutler doesn't have the time to look downfield (he ends up throwing short to Forte instead hence Forte's receptions). So they key to helping out the passing game is running more.I wonder what Bears fans are thinking.
These are his yards receiving: 71, 48, 6, 19, 44, 113 (@ATL), 48.
I have not been catching any Bears games. I get the injury is mixed in there but this should not be happening. Is it game plan, Cutler not playing well or maybe Jeffery, Forte and Bennett getting the targets, what? I doubt the latter as Marshall has had 9-10 targets last two games.
I own both Forte and Marshall on the same team. It seems like everything is going through Forte this season. He leads the NFL in receptions. It's not like Jeffery has been totally dominating either. He's been better than Marshall, but it just seems like Cutler is checking down to Forte more often than not so far this season.I wonder what Bears fans are thinking.

Agree. As someone playing against AJ Green, I was beyond pissed that the only play Green made that entire game was the play after Revis left the field due to injury.Revis will get Marshall this week. Revis isn't the corner he used to be, but he certainly can force Cutler to look at Jeffery, Bennett, and Forte this week. Also, keep in mind that Chicago is likely going to run all game against a depleted Pats defense, also to keep Cutler from making mistakes. Same way the Jets did.

In my pretty standard PPR league I own him in, he was the 19th ranked WR going into this week making him a mid-range WR2. Not exactly what I hoped it get out of him, but not in the realm of "one of the biggest busts of the year".Shaping up as one of the biggest busts of the year!
Brandon Marshall - WR - Bears
Brandon Marshall was forced from Sunday night's game against the Packers with a left ankle injury.
The Bears have ruled him out for the rest of the game. Marshall limped off the field after getting tackled in the fourth quarter. This is separate from the right ankle injury Marshall played through earlier this season. More will be known when the Bears update his status, but Marshall is likely going to miss practice time next week. He finished with eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown before exiting.

on replay that ankle sprain didnt look that bad, hopefully its not another HAS and he probably doesnt miss game timemy current thoughts are:
finally a decent game since the SF game..
now he's hurt again...
CHI looks like a dumpster fire...
wanted a good game to up his trade value, but that vaporized...
started him tonight, and will likely roll w/ cooks the rest of the way.
Marshall seems like a gamer to me. I think he's going to want to keep playing as long as he physically can. I don't really think the Bears gain anything but shutting him down. The ankle may not keep him out, but have to wander how much injuries to both ankles now will limit him. And with the team out of contention, always possible they shut him down sometime in the near future.
I agree he's a gamer, but they would gain by preventing him from any further longer term damage on the ankles.Marshall seems like a gamer to me. I guess we'll see to what extent this ankle injury is. I think Marshall has aspirations of being in the HOF--he has a long way to go, but it isn't inconceivable if he can play at current rate for another four years. He has had five years of over 100 receptions, will almost surely reach the 1,000 reception plateau, and is almost at the 10,000 yardage plateau.lod01 said:Marshall really impressed with the way he was not giving up when there as no chance to win. On at least 2 catches he could have simply stepped out of bounds but he not only tried to make moves, he bull rushed the defense when they surrounded him and he fought for extra yards with guys jumping on his back.
If that was a guy like TO out there, he would have totally given up by halftime. Maybe it was good that he blew off all that steam a couple weeks back but man, this team needs some wins to keep Marshall from losing it.

And that they're ready to activate that rookie WR who broke his collarbone at the beginning oh the year.Bears cut Santonio Holmes today. Probably more due to the fact that Holmes is unproductive and probably a cancer in the clubhouse, but also may mean that Marshall's ankle is OK.
Rotoworld:Any word if he practiced today? Nothing came up on Google search.
Thanks - better than no practice at least.Rotoworld:Any word if he practiced today? Nothing came up on Google search.
Brandon Marshall (ankle) returned to Bears practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.
It puts Marshall on track to suit up for Sunday's game against the Vikings. Ideally, he'd get in a "full" session on Friday, but that's probably not going to happen. He'll likely be listed as "limited, questionable." At less than 100 percent against the Vikings' solid pass defense, Marshall is shaping up as more of a WR2 than WR1 for Week 11.
Agreed. Monitoring him closely this week. Have Cooks, Matthews and Andre Johnson ready in case it sounds like he isn't going to be 100%. Although, he wasn't 100% against the 49ers in Week 2 and put up 3 TDs. He's just one of those guys that if he starts, you almost have to play him. Thanks - better than no practice at least.Rotoworld:Any word if he practiced today? Nothing came up on Google search.
