Thoughts on Kenny Britt - Week 14 (1 Viewer)

Like many others here, I have been enjoying Britt's numbers for the past 3 weeks. Unfortunately, his explosion coincided with Justin Gage suffering a back injury.

I don't believe that VY is a factor here. In the 6 games that VY has started, Britt has been targeted 30 times. However, 29 of those have come in the 4 games that Gage has been out. Only 1 target in the two games that Gage was active.

Logic would dictate that Gage only receives limited snaps in his first game back but does he steal enough to make Britt a marginal start? Not to mention limited passing as CJ4.24 blows thru the Rams D for 150/2.

FBG has him rated as a weak WR2, but I have serious doubts he will even hit WR3 numbers.

Britt has looked good last few weeks - good matchup vs Rams - I'm rolling with him as a #3WR without hesitation.

With Gage out Britt was able to gain VYs confidence, especially in the redzone. He would of had 2TDs last week if he could stay inbounds. Gage back will prob open up things more Britt, and he should continue to be the redzone go to with his length.

The bigger question for the STL game is will TEN be scoring thru the run all day?

Titans Team Report

WR Kenny Britt(notes) apparently will continue to start even after Justin Gage(notes) returns from injury this week. Britt has 567 receiving yards on 36 catches this season. Britt also had a 56-yard kickoff return and appears to be solidifying that job.

:lmao: Gage will be worked in as WR3 and then from there it's up to him being able to pass Washington and/or Britt for a starting gig. Passing Washington should not be too hard but it won't be this week...

Good point about his KR usage for anyone with leagues that give points for it. Could be a good way for him to add a few points later on even if TEN stops throwing.

Of course, this assumes STL can score.

Rams gave up 71 yarder to Bennett, 48 yarder to Hester, and 35 yd PI penalty to set up TD before Cutler's hand got hurt and Chicago stopped passing. I think Britt should get at least one big play. Washington dropped a sure long TD last week, so I think Britt has more trust than Nate on the deep targets too.

My money league is a 1 for 25 return yardage league and I'm starting Britt with confidence along with Calvin. I'm hoping the Rams will at least get a couple FG's so Britt will have 3 or more kickoff returns. One thing to note is that Young got pulled from practice today per Rotoworld. Doesn't sound too serious, but something to keep an eye on.Vince Young-QB- Titans Dec. 10 - 4:20 pm et

Vince Young had to be pulled from Thursday's practice after aggravating an injury to his right knee.

"He has been trying to push through practice and he just had a setback so we shut him down," Fisher said. According to Titansradio.com, Young aggravated the injury when he stepped on an offensive lineman during passing work. Fisher expressed optimism, however, saying he still expects Young to start. We have him ranked as the No. 10 fantasy QB this week, though he'll likely slide a few spots after this news. If you plan on starting him, be sure to be check back Friday for an update.

Dont see why Tenn will pass at all in this game, and VY injury is a definate concern. Pretty risky play in fantasy playoff time Id say. I am in a 1 point per 15 return yardage league and he is a beast in that format and I dont think im starting him over Jennings.

Young Injures Knee At Practice

Staff Report December 10, 2009

Titans Quarterback Vince Young went down with a right knee injury during Thursday's practice in the bubble.

Young apparently stepped on an offensive lineman during passing work against the scout team defense. He hobbled to the sideline where he lay on the ground for several minutes. Moments later, trainers took him inside Baptist Sports Park. Young returned later with ice on the knee.

After practice, Head Coach Jeff Fisher said the injury was a set back related to a hit Young suffered to the same knee during Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

"He's been trying to push through practice, and he just had a little set back," Fisher said. "So we just shut him down. We will tend to him inside and see how he is tomorrow."

Quarterback Kerry Collins took the remainder of Thursday's practice snaps. Fisher said Collins would be ready to step in on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams if Young could not play. However, at this point Fisher said he expected Young to be ready.

"At this point no, we expect that he will be able to play," Fisher said. "However, he did not finish practice."

If VY ends up scratched, I would look for a replacement for Britt.

I am planning to start him as my #4 WR (only need to start 1 RB).

Put him in over Bess, although he's having some good games too. Could start a RB such as Lynch or Forte, but I think Britt has more upside!!

I just received Ganther, RB Washington off waivers (yes, still allowed) and was curious if he would be a better start than Britt now that Gage is back? Tennessee does play St. Louis and should be a good match up. And, Young says he will play (Saturday morning news).
