Thoughts on some more defensive guys (1 Viewer)

Just looking to get some discussion going on some more fringe type IDP guys.

Nedu Ndukwe - Seems like a very good fantasy player but is always in and out of the Bengals starting lineup. Is he a starter or do they phase him out again?

Jonathan Goff - Seems like a just a run stuffer but may have decent 2 down value in New York (assuming he wins the job)

Sherrod Martin - Came into the starting lineup last year and seemed to be on fire then disappeared again. Will he get another chance in Carolina?

Ndukwe is a lot like Gibril Wilson. Always around the ball, looks good in the stat sheets, but makes enough critical mistakes in his run fits and coverage responsibilities that the coaching staff doesn't trust him. As long as the current coaching staff is in Cincinnati, they'll be looking for a steadier veteran option (and possibly a draft pick with upside) to compete with Ndukwe. When Ndukwe is in the lineup, he's a top IDP option with the current linebacker alignment. He's not trustworthy as your anchor, though.

He's got enough range and coverage skills to play every down. He's going to have to be more consistent against the run (particularly getting off blocks) during OTAs and camp to earn the job if the Giants don't add another candidate high in the draft. Depending on how the rest of the defense shakes out over the coming months (can Phillips play, how healthy and productive the DL/OLB group becomes), there may be only one nickel linebacker if the Giants can make their 5-1-5 subpackage work.

Martin was solid enough replacing the injured Charles Godfrey. Godfrey was back starting by year's end when healthy, though. I'm not sure what the Panthers have planned for Martin this year. He could play slot corner or safety and the depth chart looks solid at both positions. He may end up like Danieal Manning, getting time at both spots when needed.
