Thursday night heartbreak... (1 Viewer)

What was it for you?

For me, RIvers & J Thomas. Combined for almost 24 in the first half & an incredible .7 in the second half. Julius didn't see a single target after him & Manning failed to hook up on 3rd down right before the half when was wide open.

Figured I needed a combined 40 to stay on track, 34-37 at the least & I got 24.5

Looks like my season went down the drain as ryan matthews grinded out first downs..

In a league I had a 1st round bye in I had Peyton, Julius Thomas, Demariyus Thomas, Monte Ball, and Danny Woodhead. :ptts:

I had the same. Disappointed but not too much. Rivers could very well be my best QB option this week if Rodgers doesn't play and Luck goes back to the Luck we all have come to hate to start.

Julius scored at his floor. I was expecting more with Welker out.

Also had Keenan Allen and he exceeded his projection so I am happy with that. He made up for some of the disappointment from other players.

Also happy Decker took a dump. Went against him.

My game is still in reach, so I'm not overly bummed. Check back in with me Sunday night

Down by 40 going in 2nd week of H2H playoff.

Forced to use Gates, and obviously was hyped about Demaryius...... a combined 5 ...FIVE points. STILL down by 40.

Here's to hoping B Marshall and Josh Gordon can pick up this dispicable production of receivers.

In my league's scoring I got 33 pts out of my Rivers/Allen combo. Had I known that before the game, I would've been "meh, that's ok I guess." But seeing 90% of those pts put up in the first half leaves me disappointed. I really needed to start the week with a big cushion & now my opponent is a heavy favorite. And Rivers' kneel down at the end cost me a point. Kick in the crotch

I had Peyton and DT vs. Decker, Allen and JT. We both got burned more or less equally, so I'm actually relieved. Those three players alone could have given him 100 points.

DT not getting but 45 yards after having 8 straight games of 100 yards or a TD. I sat Keenan Allen this week too (Gordon filling the other WR slot), so yes I would gladly swap them at this point if I could.

Apple Jack,

Absolutely, if you would like updates, I will gladly send them to you. Or, if your being a sarcastic ##### like I am assuming, I have a great idea. You click on the links you want to read. For example, if you don't want to read about the crap 2nd half last night, don't click on the link? Just an idea, hope it helps.

And then when everyone on here posts a thread about how last night sucked for them, we can skip the first twenty pages to look for the info we value. Gotcha.

Wow, what a bunch of babies in here. People are frustrated & they vent about it on a message board. Get over it. I hardly doubt you need to scroll through 20 pages to find what you are looking for.

Mods, feel free to take down my post, I wouldn't want to upset DC yourself or apple jack since they control what comes out of peoples mouths and fingers on the internet.

Ill head to mass and repent now.

Gimme a break you jackass #####es

Bad- D. Thomas

Ok - Rivers

Good - Keenan Allen and Ryan Matthews

All evened out. Needed pts out of Matthews with AD and MJD looking iffy. Isn't going to win me the game, but will leave me in the hunt.

for me i guess it was the 2nd quarter going against rivers and allen combo

2 weeks in a row in different leagues allen has screwed me with 2 td catches.. shyt

the rest of the game was sweet but all it takes is one quarter to chew up your butt

Disaster

Manning, DT, Moreno

Rode them to dominating season to have them #### the bed yday

I knew it was coming also, wanted to bench Moreno for GIO, total #### show

I had manning, Moreno, JT, decker, and Keenan Allen. If not for those 2 tds by Keenan Allen, I'd be super screwed. Now I'm just normal screwed.

Dominated all year, 150 last week and now I barely put up 49 points with Only lynch, vereen, kicker, DS/T left. What the ####.

Thing about it is, you can't hardly blame yourselves for not benching most of these guys. I had disappointing games from Demaryius, Decker, and Woodhead. The only one I'm kicking myself on is Woodhead, who was a coinflip over Rashad Jennings. Guys, you are too damn hard on yourselves.

Yeah, my rule is that I never beat myself up over a decision if I'm comfortable with the logic that went into it. I hate that I started Tamme over Fleener last night and he did nothing, but it's clear that the Broncos played a little misdirection game with him, Green and Caldwell about who would be manning the slot. And there's no way I could have known about that.

Playing Manning in two different leagues. In one I have Demaryius, in the other I have Decker. Not sure if I'm happy that manning was 'off' or sad Demaryius/Decker didn't do much. Thoughts?

Yep. I had Demaryius Thomas and Keenan Allen going. The later had a nice albeit lucky game, but, wouldn't you know it, I played against Ryan Matthews. :ptts:

Was an underdog in the semis to begin with, but Peyton and the boys had been carrying me over other seemingly insurmountable odds.

Started Manning, DT, Knowshon, Tamme. The only one I'm frustrated with myself for is Tamme, but the process of starting him was sound even if the results weren't. I lost Reed a couple weeks ago and it's a 16-team league. Brandon Myers vs Seattle didn't really feel promising either.

Manning was OK, but Knowshon and DT really dug me a hole. Tamme buried me in it.

Need an absolute miracle...

Decker getting only 2 catches is part of why they lost!

You have to get your playmakers involved, they didnt.

Exactly, I didnt lose any sleep at all. Nobody on the planet wouldve benched DT, JT, Decker, Moreno, etc. I only lose sleep if I make bad lineup decisions. What happened last night was out of my control and part of the luck factor.

I always look at it as, will I be more mad if player A or player B goes off on my bench. If player A is the "stud" he's going to be in my lineup 9/10 times. I was really torn about going Woodhead last night and glad I didn't. But it's not like starting him would have been a bad choice.

Last week, playoff week one bye (#2 overall seed) Rivers scores 30, Prater scores 18 to help me rack up a 157 point score that would have decimated every team in my league. this week, those two combine for 30.20. Brutal. I'm going to lose and I blame marmalarde. Is it too much to ask for ONE GODAMNED PLAY ACTION CALL ALL FREAKING NIGHT!?!?! He could have easily thrown 4 TDs last night, denver defense was selling out on the run every. single. first down.

whatever, I ####### hate FF.

While this is true it's really frustrating to get unlucky every year about this time.

Tamme and Ball...ouch. Luckily it's the first week of a 2 week matchup, but in the hole early. 8.7 combined in my 0.5 ppr league. I almost threw L. Green in there for Tamme, so it could have been worse...

This seems to happen every year. Last year it was Peterson who almost singlehandedly took his owners to the playoffs only to tank (relatively speaking) in week 15. This year it's Manning, although he wasn't terrible by anyone else's standards. I guess it will weed out those teams who were a one trick pony.

I went against Demaryius, so I'm thrilled.

Last night is another reason why I like my total points league. One week won't kill you and takes into account past production.

Sat Moreno for Stacy, so was happy with that.

Played against Thomas, was happy with that, but he also started Mathews, so that bums me out a bit.

Started Prater who was slightly under.

Down by 15 after last night, so am right about where I thought I would be.

Moreno in lineup, Mathews on my bench. Hurt to watch that.

Was going against Manning and Thomas, was expecting much worse so hard to complain too much.

Started Moreno over R. Bush, Stacey, and Bernard. I guess it wasnt tragic beacuse I was against P. Manning and Decker. In my other league I had D. Thomas. That one hurt more.

What do you mean "Down by 40 going in"? Do you have a type of cummulative, multi-week playoff? If so, could you send me some feedback? I am interested in getting away from stone age league with crazy dumb luck playoff setups.

My league is total points too and while I agree with you in theory getting stomped in Week 15 can still be a huge problem if it occurs to a top player.
