These are perfectly safe, right? :oldunsure:

Am I buying them through Ticketmaster if I buy them through a horse tracks website? Is the process the same for getting the tickets on my phone?

yep, it's how I've bought my raider tickets the last few years. It's ticketmasters way of trying to stop scalpers.
...and take a cut of the action.
Sure. We bought tickets for a weekend later this month way in advance and had to change plans so we are trying to sell ours verified through Ticketmaster. I’m sure they won’t sell, but it doesn’t cost anything to try.
What we are a lil pissed about was we have to list them at a minimum price, I believe it was $50. We would’ve listed them for $20 just to try to get something back.
They say it’s the venues rule idk

When I'm buying, I usually open tabs for Stubhub, Gametime, Seatgeek and whatever the official original seller was. There are occasionally outliers in availability and pricing but the market tends to equalize for events with a lot of supply like baseball games. We went to a Giants game last weekend and the exact same seats were $3 cheaper on Seatgeek for some reason which made a difference because there were five of us.

On the rare occasions I put tickets up for sale I just use Stubhub because they already have my SS# and I'm usually just trying to get something back at the last minute.

My experience is you will pay a premium over stubhub and have a more limited selection
Ticketmaster has had a partnership with Stubhub since 2017. It's two sides of the same coin, but there are some tickets that can't be resold except with TM verified resale.

on both the buyer and seller ends

they must net 30% or more of the total price paid
to be fair the one ticket I was trying to sell I would’ve recouped the fees I paid before. they were not getting the fee from me and the person buying the ticket for me.

guess i'm interpreting it as a fee to me. if i post a ticket for sub-face, say $100, the buyer sees $130.. since i can't charge $130 and get $130. if i charge $130, the buyer sees $162 and they won't pay that so i have to eat cost to offload the tickets.

Something seems wrong about a company selling tickets twice, profiting both times.

How do they get away with that?
It's certainly frustrating for the consumer, but I suppose there are providing two separate services here and doing so with some reliability.

for foo fighters i couldn’t change the price lower or higher . I guess more artists need to do that to lock it all down

Yes - just went to the Foo Fighters concert. Couldn't transfer tickets either. If you wanted to sell them everyone had to walk in together.

I received a letter that they had a data breach and my personal info was possibly compromised. Just posting as a heads up to anyone who maybe hasn’t gotten one yet.
