Tiered rankings by position? (1 Viewer)

I had not seen fftoday rankings until this morning. While I appreciate the output and will use this as a guide to create my own tiers, I disagree with some of the conclusions.

For example, I love Steve Smith, but he is not sui generis Tier 1. The Tier 3/Tier 4 groupings also seem a bit off, but that's what makes the whole process interesting, right?

Whats everyone's thoughts on these rankings?  Are they credible and respected?
Rankings are just an opinion of an organization or individual. You'll never see a ranking in which everyone agree. They are there as a guide, therefore; you must make your own decision.

I think FFToday rankings are pretty decent IMO. Bascially through the years I use three sources with very good success:

FootballGuys.com (DUH!!)

FFToday.com

FootballDocs.com

If you keep track of this stuff (and I know plenty in this forum do), the above three will come out on top at the end of the season. FBG nailed TE's last year, FBD nailed defenses and kickers... in process of working through WR, QB, and RB. Basically, using the three will put you in a good position when doing your own rankings or using a weighted average of the three.

So in summary, yes, FFToday credible IMO.

EDIT BELOW:

SORRY -- got off on a tangent based on other respones. In terms of original post -- Footballdocs Draft Advisor does tier based rankings for you and your league scoring system. Pretty decent IMO. Costs 10 bucks though, so if others have free one, please post.

My suggestion: Run FBG's VBD app, make cutoffs at around 16 points, and you'll have your tiers.

Skippy the One Eyed Beagle used to have an app that did this automatically, but he didn't update it last season and I don't know if he will this year or not.
