Fin> do you still think Tiger is "done"?

What are you a friggin lawyer or something? This is like debating with myself in the real world. I look at it like this. When you're as dominant as Tiger once was and you manage to peel off a couple small time tourneys every 4-5 years, yeah, that's done. I mean the Bridgestone? Really? That's HIS COURSE. I don't think I ever intended this thread to be about a debate on whether or not Tiger could cobble together another win or two. It was about finishing his career on top. Taking out the Bear. Putting the discussion to rest. Has he done that since I posted this thread? I mean it's not that far fetched that this little tournament he won may ignite his fire but he's 5 years older now, he's got a fake patella, hips like A-Rod and a splayed rotator cuff. I think it's safe to say the fist pumping, 80 foot putt dropping, being within a few strokes on day 4 and scaring everyone off the course days are well behind him. That guy is gone. Even the media knows it. They try to pose this question every time he's on the course for ratings. "Tiger in the hunt?" Dying for the glory days of the late 90's...but the result has always been the same. Don't think I can say it any clearer than that. I don't remember laying a bet down that he'd never win a match again. We're we honestly ever discussing that, oat? I just called it like I saw it....
This post reads like a recap of all the trolls work since your *cough, cough*.. absence.
Okay bud, keep fighting the good fight. You're doing good work in here. Peace....
Just sayin' the thread missed you, that's all. Hope you're breaking 80 consistently while working on that game during your hiatus.
I haven't posted in FBG's under any other name besides Fin since maybe 2010. I was on hiatus and I do golf. I have no idea where the trolls in here even stand. Most are over the top but I've honestly probably only read 15 pages of this thread and it's been mostly my posts. I'm proud of some of that blackout work I did over the past few years. Then guys like Otis can't even pick a side for Christ's sake.

That's why I bumped a few of your posts before your resurrection. Just trying to reset your work here. The Cuba Gooding Jr. thing still is my favorite.

It's funny that you bolded, "Scraping together a major here or there in comparison, is done." Because between that and calling Nicklaus the "Gold Bear," it clarifies for me that you don't understand golf as much as you act like you do.

This course ate him up 10 yrs ago. I didn't bet anything on him this week. I think he's a fade personally. He was puring those irons last week and a putting machine in that round of 61. I don't think we see an instant replay. While i consider Otis and Johnny B both good ibuddies, I think Johnny B let Otis off the hook on their wager. I also think if you like Tiger to win, you will see better odds at some point during the weekend than the 3.5 to one offered now. Just my 2 cents.

He is the best player right now, but not miles better than everyone else.
Tiger's won six times already this year. Rory won four all of last year. And no one except Tiger (~10 different years) and Vijay (who won nine in 2004) has won more than four tournaments in a single year in the last two decades or so.

He's head and shoulders above the field. He just hasn't won a major.
This.
Those were the stats I was looking for. Hard to find golf stats. For me at least. Hasn't Tiger won like 8 out of his last 35 starts or so. Last 7 majors, 3 top 10's and and 11th place finish. A Player's Championship win. Fred Couples has 15 career wins. Steve Stricker has 12.

Phil six years older still winning majors. Six years=24 majors worth. Give Tiger a 15-20% win ratio in that period. It's just a matter of time.

Apple Jack said:
He won the US Open last year and just won the Memorial which I would rather win than the PGA. Only someone that is as clueless as you are would shrug off winning Jack's Tournament and Arnie's Tournament in the same year.
They're not majors. Does anyone care who wins the non-slam events in tennis? Of course not. Golf is popular in this country and the demographic that watches it has disposable income. That' why there seems to be a golf tournament on every weekend. But make no mistake about it, it's teh majors that matter. Before Mickelson was finally able to win a major, I didn't hear his apologists listing all the non-majors he won. It didn't matter. Let's not start suddenly exagerate the importance of "Jack's Tournament" or "Tiger's Tournament" for the sole purpose nof pretending that Tiger is still doing well. You must look at the majors. They call them that for a reason.
Hard to believe this was four years ago. It's like nothing's changed.
Yes, you are still utterly clueless and watch too much ESPN programming aimed towards college kids laying around stoned and hungover with nothing better to do.
I know. Because you don't think I golf as well as you, right? That's hilarious.

Please tell us how Tiger is maturing at the microphone and really kicking butt now handling questions. You sound like you have a schoolgirl crush. It's sickening.

By the way, I was right four years ago, and am still right today. Until he can stop choking on the weekends of the majors, he's not even close to being back to what he was before this thread was started. As much as that frustrates you and your ilk.
Sickening??? :lmao: Why does this eat at you so much??? Please explain.
Lol. Why does what eat at me? I'm loving this. Been loving it for four years. What's sickening is Apple Jack's man crush on Tiger. He's even talking about how awesome he is at press conferences now. Maybe sickening was the wrong word. Laughable. Yeah, laughable.
"Sickening" was your gut reaction. Seek help.
Whatever you say, Trashboy

That's not at all what I said, Goober. You are like a vortex of wrongness.

You just saw a ridiculous display of ball-striking, scrambling and putting but OMG NOT BACK AND HES NOT MAJERS AND PERKINS MOMMY MY BUTT ICHES.

Is there a reason TNT isn't starting their coverage until 1PM? I have a hard time believing that Supernatural and Bones reruns will get them higher ratings.

Checked the odds at Oddschecker this morning and Tiger had drifted out to 9/2 on most sites. Through seven he's at 3/1. Kind of cool to see how each birdie/bogey affects things. Per the odds, two birdies added about 7% to his chances of winning.

Tiger does look good. Will be tough to beat.

ETA: is there an official PGA thread to post in or is this pretty much it?

You woods gobblers should head over to the golf channel. It's as if there is no one else in the tournament. They so want him to win. Makes me root all the harder for him to fail yet again.

You lead a sad little life that what people feel on the internet guides you that much.

Perhaps step away from the computer...might be time for a break.

Tiger fans are a funny bunch. People love and hate athletes from every sport. It's just accepted. But with Tiger, if you're not onboard the Worship Train, his lovers absolutely hate you. Call you names. Say you're trolling. LOL I've never seen anything like it. You must agree that he is God-like or you're dumb, have never golfed, and/or are a child living in your mom's basement. Funny stuff.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't apply to everyone here.

Tiger gave up two opportunities -- missed a 3 foot birdie putt and bogeyed the next hole (a par 5, he decided to hit the driver, )

I tuned in at 11:43 when you posted this. Not a single shot of Tiger since then.

Lots of guys warming up. What's with the eternal coverage of warmups when there are a ton of guys actually playing right now? This is nearly as bad as CBS at the last major tuning out of the last 4 groups finishing the last 4 holes so they could show interviews and family hugs with The Mickelson Bunch.

These broadcast people WAY overthink all of this. We're tuning in to watch golf. Just show us the guys playing golf. Christ.

not really. If you've watched his career, starting at the very beginning when this kid just started winning pga events, and kept on winning, and winning, piling up majors in a fashion that hadn't been seen in 30 years (since Jack was a young gun), and just add up the totality of what he has accomplished over the last 15 years, its hard to imagine him NOT winning a bunch more tourneys or majors.

This is a guy that has changed his swing twice. He's also battled injuries, and yet here we are in 2013 with the guy winning, once again, a high percentage fo the tourney's he's entered. The only difference between the current Tiger and previous versions of Tiger in terms of his wins is the lack of majors. But if you are a betting man, the odds are high that he'll start winning that again, based on his body of work.

Why didn't you jump on my tiger vs. the any 3 golfer bet? I gave you a blueprint for raking in dollars.

Even if everything you stated was true, it doesn't explain the anger and hatred that his groupies have for anyone who doesn't like the guy.

:lmao: . Bogeyed that par 5. Headed towards yet another defeat against the best in the world. He should stick to the ham and egger circuit. The big boys show up at the majors.

On another topic, I wonder what's going to happen to golf when Tiger hangs it up? He brings so much energy and attention to the tourneys he plays, what will the pga do without him? Will prize money fall as the sponsers pull way back on spending because the ratings without Tiger aren't close to the ratings with Tiger. Should be interesting.

I'm rooting for him this weekend and to break the majors record because I'm sick of that Pac10 stud gold bear having it.
Jack Nicklaus attended Ohio State, so................

And Ive never seen a grown man spend this much time kissing up to a prediction and bashing a golfer as you seem to.

Its not that if you don't agree and like Tiger that you don't know golf...its when you post things that show you obviously don't understand the game that well that leads us to believe you don't know golf.

Its when the trolls call the WGC a ham n egger that shows they don't know golf.

Pretty amazing that after he wins this he's 3 wins shy of Sam Snead's career wins record -- and he's only 37 years old. He's got a ton of

l good golf left in him, and if he keeps winning

tournaments at even close to this clip, his career win number could end up being unbreakable.
Much like Jack's 18 majors won't be touched
Tiger's pretty close already, and again, he's only 37.
Let me know how much you want to wager on him breaking the record
I am good for 1k if you would like baloney. Same bet that Otis has with zoo.
This post is lonely baloney. :tumbleweed:

Whats funny...is people like you and newbie and underachievers...cry that Tiger fans post the minute he has a good round or wins a "Ham n Egger".

Within minutes of the double...here you are.

Hilarious.

Do you really think he doesn't know golf or that he just knows how easily wound up you Tiger-lovers get? It's no different than when a troll like Otis exclaims that he's back and that this thread is officially over because Woods wins some non-majors. It's been page after page of people intentionally pushing each other's buttons. The only difference is, the people here who can't stand Woods, don't get angry and upset with the Tiger-lovers. But the Tiger lovers start name-calling and insulting and insinuating that people have no knowledge of golf if, God forbid, they mention that Woods chokes every time he plays in a major. One side of this argument take this stuff WAY too seriously and need anger management, and the other side is having fun. I'll let you figure out which side is which. ;)
