I'm thinking he's been walking 18 holes a day, maybe more, for months. He didn't just jump off the couch and play this weekGo walk 18 holes 5 days in a row and let me know how your body feels.
Playing well while doing it. That's the challenging part.James Daulton said:Ok, you've pulled me back in. What exactly about the golfing for 5 days is supposed to be so difficult? The walking, swinging, getting your ball out of the cup, what? I assume he's been practicing so he shouldn't have any muscle issues from the swinging. So I guess the walking 5 miles in 5 straight days is the challenging part?

I generally score better when I walk than ride, but then again I'm carrying my own bag so that might put me at an advantage over Tiger in getting my glutes to fire.Playing well while doing it. That's the challenging part.
I'm all for buying the argument for mental fatigue due to lack of playing in tournament conditions but the argument was seemingly made that physically playing 4 rounds in 4 days can tax you.Playing well while doing it. That's the challenging part.
Sure it can. Not sure why this is hard to understandI'm all for buying the argument for mental fatigue due to lack of playing in tournament conditions but the argument was seemingly made that physically playing 4 rounds in 4 days can tax you.
Well, if I had to guess it is because we are talking about walking. These guys aren't wiped out from swing the club over the 18 holes. Almost all of them are out on the range hours before their round and often hours after it. I realize pro golfers are the ultimate prima Donna's but no need to buy into some of their BS that golf is a physically demanding sport. It makes baseball look like football.Sure it can. Not sure why this is hard to understand![]()
No doubt. Can be hell on the lower back though.Well, if I had to guess it is because we are talking about walking. These guys aren't wiped out from swing the club over the 18 holes. with someone carrying my clubs this would be a joy...Go walk 18 holes 5 days in a row and let me know how your body feels.
I like the goatee look. As as a fellow beard challenged guy, I say give the guy a break!I used to love Tiger. After the driveway incident and harem of whores, I am now a huge hater. So I love to see him fail. He played much better than I expected, though 16th place out of 17 is nothing to really get excited about.
Biggest takeaway for me is Tiger desperately trying to sport the full beard. He has been trying to do the facial hair thing for years now, and he continues to fail. Even his full goatee looked stupid. But the pencil thin sideburns barely connecting on one side, and not connecting at all on the other side just screams of his feelings of inadequacy and need to be more masculine. And it's just a big fail IMO.
True...and Daly is also a great example of what happens if you DON'T commit fully to the physical side. He had all the talent in the world as a young golfer...but never reached the level he could have, or consistency he easily could have, because of his physical and mental preparation. So John Daly is actually disproving JDs assertion. Meaning a guy who is fat, drinks and smokes but plays golf every day is conditioned to walk 18 holes day after day. Take a random fat drinker who smokes who doesn't play golf he'd be shot like 9 holes into day 2.
That is a better argument but it is not the one that was being made, people were arguing that walking and playing golf while not carrying your bag is physically taxing in and of itself. That is a joke. Add in all their practice and the mental strain of playing professional tournament golf and you have a semblance of an argument although it still remains true that these spoiled, entitled country club pricks make mountains out of mole hills when it comes to the demands of their sport. Tin Cup got absolutely wasted after his opening 82 at the US Open, barely made his tee time without any warm ups and went on to break Johnny Miller's record for low round at the Open. That is all you need to know about how physically taxing a round of golf is on someone. It's not just showing up and playing the tournament rounds that's taxing. It's the constant practice as well. Even tournament round days, there's warm up on the range, short game drills beforehand then a lot of them hit more afterwards to work on a problem.
No one mde this argument. The argument was:That is a better argument but it is not the one that was being made, people were arguing that walking and playing golf while not carrying your bag is physically taxing in and of itself. That is a joke.

1. He seemed to fatigue at the end of rounds and at the end of the week. Even very minor fatigue (mentally or physically) an throw a swing off enough to make a good shot bad
2. He was fatigued from his layoff and not having competed
JD and others turned it in to a fitness competition - I can sit at my ####### desk for 8 straight hours and start doing sloppy work because of fatigue, do you really think it takes Ironman endurance to sit at my desk?
I think your quote is missing context but if you think that was his full argument then ok.go play 18 holes (walking) for 5 days straight and report back.

And play well. Well, not just well well, but really well.go play 18 holes (walking) for 5 days straight and report back.
Noticed that at the Hero Challenge and thought it was odd. Great publicity for Bridgestone. Playing Taylor Made woods as well. Still looked like the Nike irons though.looks like TW signed on with Bridgestone and will be playing B330s.
gotta think that was a big miss by Titleist.
He was worth way more to Bridgestone than Titleist. I'm sure a lot more money. Frankly I never considered Nike for anything golf related except Tiger's clothing line - mostly shorts and shirts (actually you can get some sweet TW Collection shirts for half priced out there clearing on ****'s Sporting Goods). Just never influenced me in club selection, shoes, etc. I'm a ProV1 guy and Tiger or any other guy using it would change it. The Darrel Survey just proves how dominant that ball is (or at least it did). I know Bridgestone is making a good ball these days. Bet their costs per dozen just went up.looks like TW signed on with Bridgestone and will be playing B330s.

i figured that with TW putting the Scotty back in the bag, moving over to ProV1x would have made sense. and i agree: pricing going up for those Bridgestone balls. He was worth way more to Bridgestone than Titleist. My favorites to play these days. The gimmicky RW and S Bridgestone makes with the 330s aren't as good, though, imo. But the B330s and ProV1 are the best out there, imo.looks like TW signed on with Bridgestone and will be playing B330s.

You mean the RX? It's not gimmicky, it is by far the best golf ball ever made for people who don't swing 110 and square the face up consistently at impact. It's not even close and they have a mountain of launch monitor data to prove it.My favorites to play these days. The gimmicky RW and S Bridgestone makes with the 330s aren't as good, though, imo. Yeah the RX. Sorry. Well I guess I swing at least 110 and hit it squarely because I can tell a difference in the RX/S from the B330. They just aren't as good. I've just hit a box of each on the course, but I just didn't care for them. They are better than the Callaway Chrome, though, to me. Those don't last more than a few holes with regard to feel and distance. But again, it's just my opinion from playing them. You mean the RX? Tiger gives him?Tiger supposedly playing golf with Trump today. Trump says he's a 2.8 handicap. Wonder how many strokes Tiger gives him?
How do you get the Kirkland golf balls? Supposedly ProV1's for $15 a dozen, sold out 2X in 2 hours.:golfclap:
Too lazy to look it up, but people who've played with Trump claim he cheats like a MFer.Tiger supposedly playing golf with Trump today. Trump says he's a 2.8 handicap. Wonder how many strokes Tiger gives him?
My son is a Navy seal he runs 10 miles a day, Tiger is a pro golfer, playing 18 holes is what he does, same as my son. IF you can,t play 18 holes in five days maybe you shouldn't be a pro golfer. SImple math here folks.Go walk 18 holes 5 days in a row and let me know how your body feels.

When I worked as a caddy I must have heard 1000 times that golf is one of the best gauges of character. Players who cheated were generally thought to be all-around pieces of ####, not to be trusted in business or personal dealings.Too lazy to look it up, but people who've played with Trump claim he cheats like a MFer.
