Name will be known in 2019.Does he get a green jacket if he wins this no-name tournament?
To the extent being one of the top 10 golfers in the world is JAG, agreed.Played well but just another guy
That’s not what you said.Really? 50% of the tour are known to be cheating on their wife and abusing drugs? Shut the whole thing down then IMO.
I’ll take that action.Dude's 41, not the point in a golfers life when they typically regain their glory years. In fact, this is just about when they begin their inevitable slide down.
Does anyone have any bets on does Tiger win any more non-senior pga events? I'd like to get in on the no more wins side.
So let's discuss terms. First, has to be a pga tour event, second, since you have essentially 15 or so years for it to happen, what odds do you suggest?I’ll take that action.
Odds? No odds. You’re the one offering a bet that he’ll never win another PGA event. So let's discuss terms. First, has to be a pga tour event, second, since you have essentially 15 or so years for it to happen, what odds do you suggest?
I'll take any of the top 10 guys in the Major's this year against your Tiger for a hundy. You can pick my guy. Lowest total finish total for the 4, MC is cutline +1. If either guy doesn't play in a tourney we can toss that one out.I’ll take that action.
I'd be comfortable with anything up to $500. And all the odds would do is mitigate my opportunity cost. For example, you have the potential to get $500 in year 1, year 2, year 3, etc. While I don't have the potential to get $500 for like 15 years. You're risking far less than $500 present value.Odds? No odds. You’re the one offering a bet that he’ll never win another PGA event.
How much we wagering, sport?
I like this too. How do you handle missed cuts though?I'll take any of the top 10 guys in the Major's this year against your Tiger for a hundy. You can pick my guy. Lowest total finish total for the 4, MC is cutline +1. If either guy doesn't play in a tourney we can toss that one out.
If a guy misses the cut you take the last place guy who made the cut's position and add 1. If they withdraw you get same.I like this too. How do you handle missed cuts though?

Ok, I get that. So in your scenario, Tiger would have to play better than one of the current top ten guys for the majors? That seems a big ask of Tiger. If a guy misses the cut you take the last place guy who made the cut's position and add 1. If they withdraw you get same.
Ex: Some dude named Bulle made cut in last year's British. He finished last in 77th place. Justin Thomas missed cut so he gets a 78 for the tournament in this scoring. Justin Thomas won the PGA so for that one he got a 1.
Been doing this for years with friends in the Major's individually with some various rules. Good way to make these even more interesting.
I'm just going off what Otis is saying about Tiger.Ok, I get that. So in your scenario, Tiger would have to play better than one of the current top ten guys for the majors? That seems a big ask of Tiger.
Know what, it's Christmas I'm in a giving mode too. Oats mark me down for this bet too.I'm just going off what Otis is saying about Tiger.
Feels like charity to offer him the chance to get a C-note while cheering on his favorite guy, a mere $25 per tournament. I'm a giver though.
These bets are all stupid.James Daulton said:Know what, it's Christmas I'm in a giving mode too. Oats mark me down for this bet too.

holy crap It's ok. Not everyone likes betting and winning money and stuff. These bets are all stupid.
He’s not even close to a top 10 golfer in the world. Not top 20 either. Or top 30. Maybe top 100 if he regains some form this year.Otis said:To the extent being one of the top 10 golfers in the world is JAG, agreed.

Ham and egger?I'll bet $100 that tiger wins a pga event this season. That's pretty cut and dried
I’d take the bet if it was limited to the top 20 strength of field tourneys on tour. I could see him getting hot and besting his fellow journeymen in one of the ham and egg opens this year.Ham and egger?
I'll take that. I'd say good luck tommyboy, but I wouldn't really mean it.I'll bet $100 that tiger wins a pga event this season. That's pretty cut and dried
Adding 4 numbers together at end of the year. Super hardI was hoping for that bet. That he'd win a PGA tournament. Not some gaussian polynomial distribution employing differential equations that I'd need to crunch every third Tuesday to figure out if I'm winning or not.
TIA
Might want to make clear what a PGA tournament is.I'll take that. I'd say good luck tommyboy, but I wouldn't really mean it.
And we should also stipulate that he has to make a certain number of starts so injuries don't screw you. Say 15 start minimum?
Spieth?Jordan was the only person similar to Tiger in his heyday. Will never see that again
Nope. Straight up he wins one tourney this year, no stipulations other than it's a pga sanctioned event. You're on if you agree to that.I'll take that. I'd say good luck tommyboy, but I wouldn't really mean it.

Yep. The swing looks very different than anything he’s done before too. Almost more of a lateral shift through vs rotation. I hated the swing from that IG video a few weeks back but apparently it’s effective.I'm right there with those who are shocked by where he is already. If he can stay relatively healthy, look out.
If finishing 9th out of 18 golfers in a tournament no one has ever heard of is note-worthy, have at it.Can't we just enjoy the moment guys
He beat some pretty good golfers, and it’s damned impressive for his first tourney in a long time after being injured and having a bunch of surgeries. But ok.If finishing 9th out of 18 golfers in a tournament no one has ever heard of is note-worthy, have at it.

I am sorry, ghost. TrulyIf finishing 9th out of 18 golfers in a tournament no one has ever heard of is note-worthy, have at it.
Let's do it.Nope. Straight up he wins one tourney this year, no stipulations other than it's a pga sanctioned event. You're on if you agree to that.
Wow. I thought it was a real tournament. 18 golfers? :XIf finishing 9th out of 18 golfers in a tournament no one has ever heard of is note-worthy, have at it.
Knowing his story, it is absolutely note-worthy.If finishing 9th out of 18 golfers in a tournament no one has ever heard of is note-worthy, have at it.
I agree with you, but... It's also Tiger's home course. Guy probably knows the best place to land every single ball.He beat some pretty good golfers, and it’s damned impressive for his first tourney in a long time after being injured and having a bunch of surgeries. But ok.
His home course is Medalist in FL; this was the Bahamas.I agree with you, but... It's also Tiger's home course. Guy probably knows the best place to land every single ball.
I believe Tiger owns a home on this golf course. It's his home-away-from-home course. And certainly moreso than the other 17 golfers. His home course is Medalist in FL; this was the Bahamas.
I'd be surprised if his first two events aren't Torrey and Riviera. He doesn't like Riviera, but that benefits his foundation so hard to imagine him sitting that out.
I’ve heard this phrasing for many years and curious how much it correlates to performing well. My guess is a professional player would rather play a course that suits his game over one they just play a lot but maybe I’m off base.I believe Tiger owns a home on this golf course.
