There was furious debate about this last year, I'm wondering what the Shark Pool consensus is for 2006.

Fixed subject heading to specify TOTAL TDs (rush + rec)...

what makes you think Bradon Jacobs will do anything this year. I had Tiki last year, and Jacobs took some goalline earlier in the year but was very ineffective, so Barber took all of those carries as the year wore on, same thing that always happened with Dayne when he was there. I seriously do not think Jacobs is a threat at all, unless you have read something that i have not about the off season.

I forgot my prediction

10 TD's

I guessed Barber will have 8 total TD's (his average over his last four productive seasons).

Jacobs will get the TD carries inside the 2-yard line. I really don't think this can be disputed. In 38 carries last year, Jacobs scored seven times. He was stacked at the line a few times and ran too high other times, but it cannot be discounted that he weighs 50lbs+ more than Barber. The Giants will not want to risk Barber when the "big uglies" enter the game in the goal-line package. Jacob is the TJ Duckett of the Giants.

Barber = 8 TD's

Jacobs = 10 TD's

Barber owners should recoup the loss of these TD's with his 50+ receptions and 500+ yards receiving.

:goodposting: As a Tiki owner last year, I was ecstatic about the season he gave me in a few leagues, despite losing goal line carries to Jacobs.

Yes 8-9 TDs might be less than other RBs, but bottom line is that Tiki will give me for fantasy points than a few RBs that score 10-12 TDs.

In the first 8 games Jacobs had 26/79/5td's

in the last 8 games h had 12/20/2td's

his production did not drop becasue of lack of opportunities, he jsut simply was not gettign the job done. he is big, I am not doubting that, but manny of the best goaline ball carriers are not that big. Marcus Allen, Emiitt Smith, TD, etc

They can give the ball to Jacobs all day in 3rd and 1 situations not i nthe red zone, but when it counts, Barber has been much more succesful gettign in the endzone than Jacobs

that's statistically impossible :hophead:
:goodposting: I've got Tiki down for 12 TD's this year. Jacobs is a bum, & Barber never gets hurt. It's a statistical impossibility for him to get any less than a dozen scores this season.

The deeper into the season we got last year the more frustrating it became watching Jacobs trotted on to blow err give Tiki a blow at the goalline ... well eventually even Tiki got frustrated I think and Coach C finally saw the light ... but there's no guarantee that this will happen again this year ... I see Tiki having to give it up a little ... 7 TD total

Tiki wasn't so great last year: 10/16/3 rushing from the 5 yard line and in. Jacobs was 16/15/7, which is definitely better. Can't tell from DD how many of those were in games 1-8 vs. 9-16, though it is true that he had only 2 TDs in the second half of the season.Tiki was 42/18/20 rushing from the 5 yard line and in from 2002 to 2004, which was much more effective. Maybe this is just one small sign of the start of his inevitable decline.

Blasphemy!!!! Barber is a god, I think he's got a great shot at breaking the all time yardage mark this season. Jacobs stinks, and Tiki has only gotten better with age. Barber's durability is nearing legendary status as a result of his off-season conditioning program, so we won't see a decline for at least another 3-4 years.
