RB T. Barber Upset By Lack Of Carries

AP, SI.com - [Full Article]

New York Giants RB Tiki Barber showed his frustration on Wednesday, lashing out against the play calling in the Monday night loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Barber said abandonning the running game was "a slap in his face and a sure way to lose more games." The Giants only called a total of 14 running plays during the game with Barber amassing 27 yards on 10 carries. "I am not here to be a cheerleader, someone who fades into the background," said Barber. "My job is to help this team win. The opportunities I get will dictate that."

I'm starting to get the impression that at least one catalyst in Tiki's decision to retire after this season might be Coughlin. Any chance we hear grumblings in a few weeks that Tiki might reconsider retirement if his future wasn't trapped under his current head coach? I know he's done just fine under Coughlin to this point, but could it be that Coughlin is such an imbecile that Tiki just doesn't want to deal w/ it anymore?

I'm not tuned into the Giants situation so this is just a question of curiosity. I'm honestly not insinuating anything here.

Being a huge Giants fan I can say that Tiki has not shown any animosity towards Coughlin, actually quite the opposite. His frustration is completely justified and not towards Coughlin but towards Huffnagel who calls the plays. The play calling has been ridiculous lately and is significantly contributing to Eli's struggles. Eli cannot get into any type of rhythm because of it.

Tiki needs to ####. Seriously. When you examine the actual playcalling, I dont know what Tiki is #####ing about. He had plenty of chances to do something - he just failed. Let's look at the first half. You will see Tiki was the MAIN guy, as usual. He was rested for one series and that is it.

Come second half, the Giants couldnt run, then got down late and had to pass - and Tiki dropped two freaking very catchable balls also.

Looks like Coughlin was trying to get Tiki started. Maybe Tiki should accept more responsibility and place less blame.

Losing Pettitgout doesn't help his situation any either. He was unable to run to the left, and eventually got stuck having to stay in to help in pass protection.

BUT..................

Tiki deserved to get the ball a hell of a lot more than was given to him...they abandoned the run after a few poor runs, and decided to go with Eli's inaccuracy.

HOW DO YOU NOT GIVE THE BALL TO THE NFL'S LEADING RUSHER????

Dropped passes were mainly due to the thumb injury, but handoff's should have been given out like rubbers at an AIDS convention.

Poor play calling....

And Tiki has shown some frustration with the coaching now in back to back years.

Coughlin may be a good coach, but has an Ego larger than Belichick!

I feel for the Giant fans....they have to watch Dallas and the Tuna climb past them if they don't get their act together.

At least as a JETS fan I'm used to disappointment, so it's nothing new.

EDIT: This is the same Jaguars team that got swept by Houston with Lundy/Gado running the ball.....the Giants should have taken a few notes from them.
