where'd you(or the source) get that from in the Columbus dispatch? Got a link?I read this morning that they would like to have JJ in the slots but unfortunately Carter or Wilson did nt step up and JJ will be starting at WR .The Browns would prefer to have Joe Jurevicius play in the slot this year.Problem is, Tim Carter and Travis Wilson haven't stepped up and claimed the starting role. Jurevicius is likely to line up with the first team in Week 1.Source: Columbus Dispatch

I've heard the same on the dawgtalkers website. Carter has looked better than Wilson, but with the recent injury he may lose his spot. But that's assuming Wilson can pick it up and prove himself. The rest of the WR corps doesn't look too good. Cribbs won't be anything more than a #4 WR and KR/PR. If Carter comes back soon, he should pick up the #2 spot again. There's still 3 more preseason games for these guys to show something.I read this morning that they would like to have JJ in the slots but unfortunately Carter or Wilson did nt step up and JJ will be starting at WR .The Browns would prefer to have Joe Jurevicius play in the slot this year.Problem is, Tim Carter and Travis Wilson haven't stepped up and claimed the starting role. Hey, I gotta say. You were 100% right, lol. He sucks and always will, lol.LOL, a search for Tim Carter yields this gem of a thread. I remember laughing at it as I read it. No surprise that I ended the thread. In closing, Tim Carter sucked, Tim Carter sucks, Tim Carter will always suck.
The Plain Dealer reports WR Tim Carter, who was acquired last year in the trade for RB Reuben Droughns, will not be back with the Browns, GM Phil Savage said.
Amazingly the Browns are actually making big waves this off season. Will they pay off? They can't do worse than Carter from last year that is for certain.
Ya, he stinks. It was worth a shot though for a guy we were gonna cut anyways.Bracie Smathers said:Hey, I gotta say. You were 100% right, lol. I don't disagree with your premise about Carter not being very good. The Qs over and over were 'was he starting' and sometimes in FF opportunity holds alot of weight. Probably since the first draft I was ever in, late in the draft I've thought "what starters are left?" I should also say that I was wrong on him. It's not too apparent here but I did like his potential early on in his career and allowed it to keep teasing me, misjudging him. One play was so perfect to show speed, that IMO that's still the fastest WR moment I've ever seen. To bring up a play by Vick which is not so dis-similar, Vick against the Giants one preseason, ran up the middle of the field, while the defenders were coming from the outside toward the middle, he just zoomed by em'. Names you knew as being fast just swiped at air. Sooo like the Vick play that many saw, there was a perfect play, perfect moment there for Carter where he just looked "oh my" fast. It stuck with me a llllong time, too long.LOL, a search for Tim Carter yields this gem of a thread. I remember laughing at it as I read it. No surprise that I ended the thread. Which player gives the Browns the best chance to win right away? The answer is probably Charlie Frye, who has 18 NFL starts and seems to be creating some separation from the competition in camp. He had a decent showing in the first exhibition game Saturday. Derek Anderson, meanwhile, has been inconsistent.
