Prior to the season he had him rated just about the #1 linebacker.

Last week he rated him 4th for this week.

So far this year, Harris stands #40 in the league for solo tackles, has 1/2 a sack, 1 ff, and no passes defended.

This past week he had 3 solos and 4 assists. That put him at #75 in our league on points for the day.

I know he had a monster second half of the year last year, but so far, he's a bust as a high pick.

I only projected Harris at 7-3 in the tackle columns but will admit the initial projections for him are too optimistic this week. Especially in the big play columns. In fact I had dropped them considerably for today's update even before seeing this post. That said, I'm not going to be nearly as down on him for the rest of the year as some of these post would suggest.

Disregard the Cincinnati game since that is one of the weakest match ups in the league this year, and take a look at the rest of the numbers over the past month. In those 3 games Harris averaged better than 6-2 despite some less than favorable match ups, and scored 14+ fantasy points twice. His lowest production of the year is a 5-0 in week 1 and he even managed 8 fantasy points against the lowly Bengals. Granted, he hasn't come close to pre-season expectations but look at the match ups he has down the road. The Chiefs are bad but with Thigpen at QB and ?? at RB there is going to be a lot of big play opportunity. Then it's the Bills, Rams (who aren't the same team that went 0-5), Patriots (who should have Lamont Jordan back by then), Titans, Bronco's and Bills again.

Harris is on pace for 80 solo tackles and still has the best match ups of the schedule to play. He's the Jets leading tackler to date and I strongly believe his next 6 games will be much better than the first 6. It's not as if I've never been wrong, but that's how I see it at this point. Only time will tell.

Best of luck to you all in week 8. With or without Harris

I just traded Harris, Edge, and Erik Coleman for Gibril Wilson, 2009 1st and 3rd in one league. Yea I gave up on Harris but I think it's a pretty good deal for me. 16 teamer and I expect the 1st to be about middle of the pack.
