Time to cut bait on Andre Carter! (1 Viewer)

He just keeps disappointing. A goose egg this week - everytime I have to count on him he comes up empty. His stat line for the year

1 7.5 at Giants 3 tackles 0.5 sack

2 5 vs Saints - 1 tackle 3 assists

3 5 vs Cardinals - 1 tackle 3 assists .05 sack

4 0 at Cowboys - 0

5 12 at Eagles - 5 1 1 5 tackles 1 assist and 1pd (best game of his year - 12 pts )

6 2 vs Rams - 1 tackle

7 7 vs Browns - 2 tackles 1 assist 1 sack

8 0 at Lions - S 0

he just doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to his scoring. I feel at this time I just can't count on him at all. 3 half way decent games against the giants Eagles and the Browns and mediocre games against the saints, cardinals, rams and nothing from the cowboys or the lions.

Anybody see any reason to hang on to this dude in a dynasty league ? - he is just a big tease year after year.

This bonehead really disappointed me this week :goodposting: I expected a lot from him going up against the pathetic Det offense (aka Sir Gets-sacked-a-lot). I really expected him to be a solid DL2 for me this year to go with Kerney (we start 2 DL). However, he has been a huge disappointment. I picked up Grant, who has filled in pretty nicely, but now he is going to be suspended. I definitely think Carter owners, me included, should be looking for greener pastures.

Carter's biggest problem is not himself but the injuries to Taylor and especially Griffin. Griffin is the one who sets the table for the other guys to penetrate and exert backfield pressure. Griffin, however, has been fighting injuries and was inactive for the Detroit game. Taylor was of course supposed to be a bookend, but his sprained knee in the preseason and the calf problem have taken away his ability to be an impact player thus far.

The team has a bye week in week 10 (after their next game), so I'm hopeful that this situation will improve over the second half of the season. But I agree, Carter's just not put up the expected numbers and one of my teams, too, has been hurt by that.

The Redskins also moved Carter to LDE for the Detroit game. He played almost the entire game on the left side. A few plays were on the right, possibly when Taylor came out. Yes, that means Taylor was at the RDE spot. At this point, I think it's a good thing for Carter...who is not generating a great deal of pass rush. Of course, Tatum is hitting the nail head on as to many of the reasons why. I'd point out that when JT was healthy, they still weren't setting it on fire though. I say play with caution...

'Skins play Steelers and Big Ben is getting hit too often, if Carter can't get pressure there...if you're not in a dynasty league, nobody could argue him being cut off of a roster after that.

The only point of disagreement we might have is that I'm not all that sure that Taylor has ever been "fully healthy" this season. I think he was just starting to get back up to full speed by the time of the Arizona game (week 3) which was when he got kicked in the calf and suffered that injury that required surgery.

FYI Taylor is unlikely to play against the Steelers. Griffin is still up in the air as to his status, though seems more likely.
