We all know Manny has been awful - so is it time to dump him for close to equal value or is everyone holding on for him to catch fire?

I am hanging in there with HRs/RBI even with Manny's bad start (Bay, A Gonzalez, Thome with Soriano lousy still) - could use help in steals/runs though - have a chance to deal Manny for Juan Pierre - considering. Any thoughts on that? Also have Figgins so when he comes back that will make me tough to beat in SBs/Runs.

Thinking to counter with Thome but he may do better than Manny!

Thoughts on Manny and this deal? Thnx!

Hold tight. As a fellow Manny owner, I know it's tough right now but he will turn things around (he has to right?). His value is at an alltime low right now and you could still do better than Pierre in my mind.

Per 162 games, Manny has averaged .313, 112 runs, 44 home runs, and 134 RBI since coming to Boston. (Granted, he won't play every game, but that's his baseline.)

He's had 30 HR in 11 of the last 12 years, hit .300+ in 10 of the last 12 years, and had 100+ RBI in 11 of the last 12 years. The guy is money in the bank. He'd be on my short list of guys to ACQUIRE not give up on.

He should not have been moved in a panic but I dont see the same Manny this year. Chances are he will get very hot for a stretch but I see his final numbers in the .300/28/100 range. Certainly not bad but not the typical .320/40/125 season that Manny usually puts up. I drafted him #18 and still have him on my team so I am hopeful that he really picks it up 2nd half but I only see a mild upswing. I hope I am wrong.
