Whatever your holiday, this is the time of year to give and receive. This season, the NFL hath given much, and I have gratefully received.
The biggest present of my recent NFL life has been the emergence of VY. When I watch him, I feel the way Jeff Fisher looks -- revitalized, giddy, like a kid again. That's what he brings to football for teammates, coaches, and especially fans. Thank goodness for Vince Young.
For a lot of people, LT makes them feel the same way. He's the NFL Renaissance Man, and whether he's running, receiving, or throwing for a TD, he's a delight to watch.
Although they've disappointed recently, the Bears D and special teams also provide no shortage of thrills and chills. Just when you think he's been "solved," Hester does the unthinkable _again_ (or is it the opposing coach kicking to him that's doing the unthinkable?), often in a game when any number of defensive playmakers are wreaking havoc and/or scoring points; I even take great satisfaction in watching Grossman melt down from the slightest whiff of pressure. How can you not appreciate watching the Bears this year?
MJD is a breathtaking ballerina of a battering ram. So is Julius Peppers. And Roid-rage Merriman.
Tony Romo looks like he's playing in the sandlot, along with Alge Crumpler, Chad Johnson, and Troy Polamalu. Their will, desire, and competitiveness don't come at the expense of joy, and they manage to broadcast their love of the game to me, and hopefully to you.
These are just some of the people I'm grateful for in the NFL this year. Who did I forget?
