Titans agree to terms with Mawae. (1 Viewer)

If the money is not significantly less than what Hartwig was requesting I would have prefered to keep Hartwig - IIRC he is about 5 years younger

IMO Hartwig was overrated. I remember several games in the last 2 years where nose tackles blew him up one-on-one. He's not a road grater. The experience of Mawae will help the run game and help keep McNair semi-healthy :lmao:

Possible. Do we take a center at 2.07 then?

Nope, we'll take a middle linebacker. Maybe Abdul Hodge or D'qwell Jackson will be available, assuming we don't get one in free agency. Thats just my thought though.

Mawae > Hartwig
This is very true...and not even close. Instead of keeping a record of his "pancake blocks" they kept a record of how many times he was pancaked. Always thought he was a weak link.

they got in cap hell... but floyd reese & jeff fisher are as solid as they come... now that they got over the worst part of last two years purging & can be players in FA again, i like how they are putting cap dollars to use...

givens & thornton fit age criteria better for re-tooling team, though... no doubt mawae is still one of the best... i wonder if he can play at as high a level for next 2-3 years... i don't know if they are ready to compete yet in the division... could be situation where by the time they become more respectable he could be ready to retire... he could definitely help keep mcnair healthy for few more years...

Congrats from a Jets fan... Mawae has something left as well as a chip on his shoulder.... I think the Jets wanted a change just to shake up the lockeroom... Most Jet fans probably wanted him to stay...

But, he's also not a Road Grater....

you'll be happy for another month, until they select Bush with their first pick..or, outside shot at drafting Lendale White..they didn't sign Volek AND McNair to draft leinart or young..I think its time to consider Tenn the outsider to land Bush at the draft..

N.O. just signed Brees..does N.O. slide down 1? does Houston actually take bush now, knowing they can get a QB at pick #3,4.

Actually they declined the options on both McNair and Volek...are trying to trade Volek and think McNair will only be here another year or two.Bush? Last I checked they did not have the #1 pick...and Reese is not one who likes to move up. L White? Only if they move down deep. But with having Brown long term and restructuring Henry's contract...they will not take a 1st round RB.

That's the first thing I thought of. Being a Jets, I've always felt the success the Jets have had since Parcells got there was mostly due to Curtis and Mawae. Assuming the Titans don't go RB in the draft, I will be all over Brown in my draft this year.

Brown and Henry on the roster...I do not see them going RB early in this draft.
