**Titans at Texans** (-7.5, 40.5) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

The Texans should handily beat the Titans. This is a rivalry game so that means they know each other well and there's some possibility for closeness for a while at least.

The Titans match up very well defensively. The Texans have had issues along the line especially at RG and Sweat and Simmons are two of the best interior DL.
The Titans have the top pass defense and of course that's a good matchup. Their corners should be well known by seasons end.
PFR has Baker allowing 59 yards over five starts and seven games. Brownlee allowing 263 yards with seven starts over ten games. Zero touchdowns. Those are such elite stats even if I'd put Baker more around 200 by eye.

The Titans have changed ILBs and since Jones was traded, they are totally susceptible to short to mid-range passes over the middle. Josh Allen picked em apart. Herbert went to Dissly a bunch in two drives and then nothing the rest of the game.

It's been a lot like that. I don't get it. Take what the defense gives ya and move right up the field.

Instead teams struggle to run against the big fellas or pass against those corners and the Titans keep games close(some) and...I don't know what the deal is. It's as if opposing teams are determined to do it the hard way.

Anywho...the Titans will be playing a new ILB Baker and maybe Williams and Gray. Maybe it won't be so easy and the replacements will step up.

On offense Levis has looked a bit better each of the last two weeks. He's making some big boy throws and throwing it away a bit and...he's getting there.

Bryce Oliver has done well to close the last two games and the UDFA is supposed to get more opportunity this week. I enjoy watching him and want to see him play more n more against first string defenses. Boyd is averaging less than two catches per game and...cmon already. Show me the exciting guy.

Ridley has been more like MVS/Desean lately. Defenses have him covered fine most of the game but he breaks off deep and shows you that speed he's got. He needs to step up. The stats look great for him last few games but he needs to catch some regular passes to move the chains too.

Pollard is not injured but wearing down like every single back in the NFL. They've rested him for practices and they're doing what they can. Spears is out so Chestnut would be next man up.

The Titans atrocious special teams had their first good week last week. They have allowed punt blocks (plural) and a historically bad 38 yards per return. The Texans have return men that can fly and pass rushers that can get after it. I would not be surprised if Demeco has a wrinkle planned for this week. It's are we really talking special teams but oof 38 yards per return can't be ignored.

The Titans are starting NPF at RT. He was benched for allowing a zillion sacks and pressures.
Their C and RT got hurt sooo they put their backup Tackle at center- rather than their backup C.
The Texans will 💯 be attacking the backups.

John Ojukwu will be available as a sub this week. He's gone from starter to cut to PS to backup.

The Chiefs just signed a tackle they're excited about but the Titans say there aren't good Ts available.

Anywho, look for Texans defensive linemen to playfully argue about where they lineup and have a day

Just hard to see the Titans doing much on offense in this one, especially with Will Anderson back. I think the Titans will get a grabage time score late to make it look a little bit closer, but this feels like maybe the easiest call of the week.

I think Nico blows up, and Mixon should continue getting his. Could see a Texans D score as well, as Levis gets desperate to make a play.

Texans -27
Titans-13

Good info to know

Titans look like their playing for next year
Texans look like their getting warmed up for this year
Nico back makes a big difference for C.J.
Mixon running wild
Back home
This will get ugly early...

Best team in Texas- 41
Only Team in Tennessee- 13

Autry is active today after not practicing.

I was always impressed with him on the Colts and couldn't believe they'd be iffy on re-signing him for a couple years. I was thrilled when the Titans signed him. This off-season, the Texans signed him and most Texans say about the same story. He's one of the most underrated DL ever but in the AFC South, he's a dawg.

As with losing teams, there's always a hint of people getting fired.

The Titans GM (he's actually part of a trio, but the figured head guy) sold us they were getting younger when Azeez and Autry left. He proceeded to sign 28-30 year olds and Titans fans noticed.
The RT problem was literally one of the reasons his predecessor was let go and one of his first positions he had to fill.
They have only four inactives which has caught the eye of national reporters. He didn't make moves this week even though everyone knew IR moves were about to open spots.
Add Humphries talk mentioned above.

Historically this is a game that creates dissent. Both teams have suddenly had strong rumors of firings or firings after this matchup that have become true.

This is NOT setup to be a good day for the Titans GM. He needs some counters to above. Maybe good play from RT and ILB and Landry.

I can remember two times that the camera was on the owner during the game and thinking woah he or she is furious. They're both generally stoic every other game. Those times someone was fired and we all said yeah we saw that coming.

Could be nothing but I think you'll have an idea if you're watching. It's never been a surprise

Amani Hooker has the flu and was a late announcement. That would be a big loss. I posted in the IDP forum maybe a half hour ago. Worley would replace him. PS guy versus Pro bowl caliber difference here

I thought that bounced live but questionable on replay.
Agree with announcers- should have been told by booth it bounced. Why make em challenge the call?

Westbrook-Ikhine might not be a hall of famer in the making, but he's making a solid case to be a weekly starter in my FF lineup.

I didn't expect the Titans to be ahead but they've been in most games at halftime then lose in the second half so it totally wrecks my enjoyment

Dirty hit but legal. Very questionable in a rivalry game. Unfortunate otherwise.

Titans already down so many safeties that the veterans won't be surprised that happens.

I don't think college safety James Williams has played S since the spring. I'm unsure who even steps in.
Avery might be S/CB

Worley is back in.
It looks dirty on Twitter replays. What's the defense of that hit? let him block with his helmet?

OMG so last week's penalty allows a TD because he's gunshy? Geesh
Chris Harris has been a magician and all love for him but he should be talking to young Mike Brown and that he's sitting alone on the sideline is wrong

Levis three of four ugh plays in a row- now muffs a handoff.
None like prior gaffes but still ugh

Steps into sack when he has great protection
As always, he runs if he doesn't catch the shotgun snap cleanly even tho he had a WR open.
Good pass.
Muffs handoff

Nico got past Brownlee and where's the safety? This all bugs me so much
I don't even know if that's on Brownlee since they usually pass em off to the safety.

Worley is gonna have to man up and get steely and whatever expression during halftime. I feel for him after that hit but the Texans are crazy to even call another play besides a deep shot every snap

Levis 11 for 11 for 175 yards and two TDs.

That won't illustrate that one possession but excellent half regardless

Latham is such a big boy. How do you not have enough spatial awareness to see him?

Levis needs some peripheral vision drills oof

Levis 11 of 12 177 yards 1 TD
Sacked seven times. Ross Tucker says five are on him.

They're overmatched and the young guy has em winning. That's definitely a half that says "I'm your future franchise QB" for a young QB.

It doesn't erase other games but kudos to him

Texans were all over Levis on nearly every play and he drove them to a FG anyway.

Kid still looks good

Pitre is out with a shoulder. Announced as wrist and clearly holding wrist so I wouldn't be surprised if he's got two injuries

Texans have barely even ran today despite Mixon having a nice season. Such a backhanded compliment to Simmons and Sweat
