**Titans at Texans** (-7.5, 40.5) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

Titans offense didn't do much in second half.
Callahan is still a wonderful first half coach and awful second half coach.
He's gotta own that and change up somehow

Texans fans now know Brownlee.
He should be in defensive rookie of the year talk.
I don't care if he wins but give the kid his due

Time to get rid of Slowik. Second half offensive woes continue. Unlikely Ryans fires him midseason, but it's warranted. No way is he back after this year and the sooner, the better.

I really want to root for HOU, but they suck.

Imagine living here. Been dealing with this for 20+ years :kicksrock:
As an Eagles fan, I know your pain. Hopefully, your time in the sun is coming soon.

I thought this year was going to be special after an inspiring 2023 and all the off season moves. Something akin to what the Lions are doing but this team has really digressed.
Definitely same thought

It’s crazy how he was the second most sought after OC, or rumored to be anyway.
If the Texans fire him he’ll land somewhere no doubt.

I agree. I thought they were due for a deep playoff run, too. There’s talent there, but you guys need a new OC, at least.

Texans need a scatback.
Stroud needs a dump off guy and blitz pickup on too many plays.
With backs being a bad market, they probably could get one off the WW.
I think this would help with some order to their offense. They've got a lot of horses but there's no order to it.

That would be a win for any team that plays against him. He's really really not good. CJ playing out of his mind as a rookie made him look far better than he is. With film on CJ, this season shows how un-creative and scared he is as a play caller.

That's not a bad idea. But the core problem is this terribly coached offense and its OL. Penalties, sacks, and QB pressure kill this offense each week. This has to be the worst coached OL in the league. Stroud is jumpy at times and missing throws he should make because of it too. The third down before Fairbairn's missed FG was an obvious all-out blitz because everyone in the stadium knew the Texans wouldn't pick it up.

Slowik needs to go, but the Texans need a proven OL coach who gets results more than anything else. They're well on their way to turning Stroud into David Carr with this crap they roll out with each week.

Yeah I see it.
They don't do regular stuff well but when it comes to making a dynamic play they show up.

The coaching around Houston feels hollow, they have a star studded roster, but I question alot of the playcalling by Demeco Ryans and their OC. As an Ohio State fan I want to see Stroud do great but its hard to root for his team when the playcalling is not there. Mixon has been amazing for them but today he was very quiet against the Titans. As a Bengals fan as well I can see how bad the OL is for stroud, and I feel it is on par with the Bengals current OL situation.

As with losing teams, there's always a hint of people getting fired.

The Titans GM (he's actually part of a trio, but the figured head guy) sold us they were getting younger when Azeez and Autry left. He proceeded to sign 28-30 year olds and Titans fans noticed.
The RT problem was literally one of the reasons his predecessor was let go and one of his first positions he had to fill.
They have only four inactives which has caught the eye of national reporters. He didn't make moves this week even though everyone knew IR moves were about to open spots.
Add Humphries talk mentioned above.

Historically this is a game that creates dissent. Both teams have suddenly had strong rumors of firings or firings after this matchup that have become true.

This is NOT setup to be a good day for the Titans GM. He needs some counters to above. Maybe good play from RT and ILB and Landry.

I can remember two times that the camera was on the owner during the game and thinking woah he or she is furious. They're both generally stoic every other game. Those times someone was fired and we all said yeah we saw that coming.

Could be nothing but I think you'll have an idea if you're watching. It's never been a surprise

Probably not coincidentally, the former Bengals OC was always using Pollard in cute ways and calling deep shots and the Titans looked similar.
I was begging for ordinary plays and maybe out Chestnut in for some pile moving and so frustrated.
Football is ready react read react over n over. Some of these fancy OCs are missing the value of the 2-4 yard runs that setup their fun calls.
Further, the Texans TEs were often open and when Stroud threw it, they were completed and soon after making other plays. Even some screens late.
They're just completely missing the give n take aspect and what these simple plays do to get defenders where they want them.

Good luck with school.
@Joe Bryant surely wants to hear about your schoolwork so message him

I’ll take the W but this isn’t a game to start thinking they’re past their issues.

Absolutely.
I wonder what would have happened or could still.

Levis' first half Tom Brady Drew Brees impression saved the day. Ask me yesterday or tomorrow how he'll do if they allow 15 pressures and seven sacks in a half and I definitely would not say 11 of 12 for 175. The kid seems to clearly be learning how to make something behind a garbage OL.

The second half was Chig and not much else, so back to reality but, I'll take that half at a year plus. It could prove to be a hopeful sign.

The claim that there's no tackles available was really blown up this week on NY radio as Humphries had visited the Giants although the Chiefs signed him. I think Monte let him walk so the Titans easily have some familiarity. All around the league teams are adding tackles and they just keep on with the same mess.

Four inactives means two or three spots weren't filled before this game. Did Ran not see their safety out for the year? Gibbens a week ago? Everyone was tweeting Snead was going on IR so there's another spot. Why didn't he sign a safety or two?

Then there's Wood. Why do we have a ST safety that can't fill in as a safety? It's not like special teams are much better. He looked lost like what do I do? Faaa be an outfielder- take what comes to you- basic stuff.

What bugs me most is when GMs around the league have this very stuff happen and it's as if they'd say "sorry, I've been planning for next year."
Steal from practice squads, sign some street guy, IDC if they sign a UFL or CFL guy just keep trying and trying til ya fill some holes. Whatever depth spot is filled is one less to worry about next year.
The other side is having to again fill 20-30 spots next year. That stinks for him but he made this mess and it's his problem to deal with.

How come they signed Corey Levin, the longtime backup C/G to the active roster and he's not playing for their injured center? How come Brunskill was the sixth lineman/T and he isn't at tackle? Raiders Callahan always annoyed everyone before he was fired with a defiant "I know best attitude." Is that what we're seeing?

Colt Anderson must have so much dirt on someone to still have a job. I would take the Volunteers special teams coach in a second and I don't even know who he is.

It's still a lot and they need to chip away at it.
