Titans DST (1 Viewer)

They've been the top scoring DST in my league. I know they had one bad game but now they are dropped all the way to 23-24 going forward? What am I missing here?

...I was actually going to clear a WR6 to keep the Titans through their bye but would like some clarity - are they now worthless going forward??

could it be that their upcoming schedule is too tough???

I did notice they have Houston twice, Indy, and an away game at Arrowhead in week 16....

Yeah I don't get it either, it's not like they've been underperforming in recent weeks either. And I don't see how it could be a tough schedule issue, it's not like those games weren't on their schedule prior to this week's rankings coming out.

Could be an error due to the bye week. Staff recommendations in the Upgrades/Waivers is "holding steady"
Thanks....forgot to check the upgrade/downgrade....must be an error if they haven't been significantly downgraded....

Fewer weeks left in the season, and the bye is this one, so if the bye week weights differently, they're gonna take a bit of a hit.

Ridiculous rating and I don't support discounting them any lower than a #7 T-250 Defense.

Just as a reference I looked at Week 8 - Giants Bye. The Giants were the #3 TD T-250 while on their bye. There may be more to David's ranking of #23 this week. I stand by my #7 T-250 at worst.Any insight from David or staff would be fantastic. This is clearly not a bye week deduction today if we apply last week's rankings to the situation.I'm fine with a ding to the former ranking - there are a few tough games coming up (W-16 in Arrowhead does not really concern me) - but going from TD #4 to TD #23 on the T-250 in less than one week is severely flawed IMO.

Obviously it's factoring in the havoc Moss will cause after the first locally-catered post-practice meal.

I don't care what they're ranked -they're my starters until Indy or at least until they throw up a huge stinker.

It looks to me like it's not counting the stats they've already accumulated for this season.
That is the point of the "going forward" rankings...
Maybe but they still seem to use previous scores to rank them for some reason. It isn't like they're sorted by the expected future output.

No concerns against any other team going forward?

I'm bumping them up with the idea that Moss could make their offense more potent, even if he's just pulling coverage. Defenses playing with a lead tend to do well and the Tennessee front has no problems getting after opposing QB's. Sacks, fumbles, and INT's on the way imo.

Bumping them up to where?

is anyone worried about their playoff schedule?

according to the points allowed so far this season, they play IND who ranks last in pts allowed to DEF, and KC who ranks 30th. Hou doesn't allow many pts either.

Week OPP points allowed Rank

week 14: vs IND (allows 4.38 fpts) 32nd

week 15: vs HOU (allows 8.62 fpts) 23rd

week 16: @ KC (allows 5.50 fpts) 30th

are you sticking with them, or are you planning to have another DEF for the last few weeks?

They are good until week 12 and then after 13 I'm contemplating dropping them. I picked up Arizona for the bye and I'm going to keep them for their playoff schedule and favorable week 12 matchup. I think I'm also grabbing falcons for 14. Elite defense vs middle offense = good, elite defense vs elite offense = toss up, middle defense vs bad offense = good. Therefore, it is better to roll with a defense that is middle of the road vs the worst 3 offenses than Titans against the top few ones.

Yeah, it seems like the Tuesday rankings/top 250 have a lot of issues. It seems like the methodology doesn't lend itself to getting something out on Tuesday, but FBG's customers have asked for it and they're trying to oblige. There is a lot of movement between Tuesday and Sunday, and not just because of things like injuries.

I actually think they would be better off having some of the other staff create something else for people that crave the 'experts' take on a Tueday. Call it the "First Blush projections & player rankings" or something to differentiate it. Then Dodds can release the FBGs official rankings/top 250 forward on Wednesday per usual.

I think this defense might be on the decline and borderline droppable. Don't even know if I can start them with confidence against Washington.

Thinking of dropping this DST and going DST by committee for rest of year. Is anyone rolling with the Titans this week?

I am thinking about using them next week against Jacksonville and then dropping them. The last time they played the Jags they put up 17 pts. But I will not touch them during the playoffs. I think I am going with Tampa Bay for the playoffs.

I have Chicago and Tennessee. I am rolling with Tennessee this week.

First, they have never lost at Houston.

Second, I actually think the defense will like the tough guy attitude that Fisher dropped =on VY and may respond well to it.

Third, this team controls its own destiny. For a team that is only one game out of 1st place in its division and plays the teams in front of them over the next few weeks, I don't think it is time to drop.

Finally, Houston turns the ball over alot.

Ill take my chances.

Perhaps the offense is the reason this defense is affected. What if they cant generate drives with the new QB and the other team gets the ball more and wears them down? A possibility?

Yeah, it's not fun being in a position where you have to count on Rusty Smith not to give the other team short fields all day.

I understand the fear of the D wearing down - and that may very well be the case - but I think there is a good chance the entire team (including the offense) could become inspired by their Offensive Coach coming off chemotherapy to coach the team this week. It could build some momentum for this team. This is an inpriational story and a championship is not beyond their control.

Just for this week, I am holding. Next week and I will see.
