Titans finally reveal what's going on in Nashville (1 Viewer)

Getting Fowler should help as well. If they can sign a receiver that doesn't suck (like Curtis, not Gage) and draft a safety or rush-end in round one this would bea a solid off-season.

In free agency there is a second tier that is really exciting and intriguing and it's going to be a good draft. We are not in a situation where we are in dire need of doing something right now.

"We drafted LenDale to be the future, so we have options,'' Fisher said.
Was there really a First Tier of free agents this offseason? I think this year's FA class was mostly Second Tier to begin with.

Total Haul so Far:

Justin Gage: Hard to get excited about Gage, especially when Curtis or Stallworth would have been a better addition. That said, getting a veteran 3rd/4th WR on board was well-advised.

Bryan Scott: Still relatively young, but being on his third team in 5 years is hardly reassuring. That said, Lamont Thompson was the worst safety in the NFL, AFL, and CFL last year so Scott's addition is bound to be an improvement. Also, if the team takes a safety to work in to the mix, Scott can likely play a little corner as well.

Nick Harper: Excellent signing. While Harper may not be a top corner in the league, he'd be an excellent CB2 if PacMan is welcomed back. If not, then corner is still going to be a big need in the draft. Just imagine if Harper hadn't signed though...

Ryan Fowler: Juries still out, although he plays with a lot of "grit", so I guess that's good. THe team needs help at LB, so I'll call this a safe addition.

So far, I'm giving them a B minus. Missing out on some of the better guys like Stallworth and Curtis stings. If they can sign a DE like Grant Wistrom, that will help.

More problematic, while I'm glad they didn't overpay for a running back, the team goes in to the draft with some needs they absolutely have to address. They need at least one RB. They need another receiver. They need another corner. They need another Defensive End.

In a perfect world, they'd draft in the first 4 rounds as follows...

1.(19) - Reggie Nelson, Leon Hall, Robert Meachem or Jarvis Moss.

2 (50) - Brandon Siler, Jonathan Wade, or Ray McDonald

3 (81) - Michael Bush - may be a little high for him, but the fact it helps w/ a desperate need makes it good value. Johnny Lee Higgins if WR hasn't been addressed.

4 (112) - Rhema McKnight or Courtney Taylor. Either one would work. Earl Everett (who I think is AWESOME) would be a nice selection as well if he slips half a round.

4 (125) - Deshawn Wynn.

So, the first 5 picks COULD end up as...

Jarvis Moss - Pass rusher on the edge, a must-have on day 1.

Jonathan Wade - If PacMan is still around, the CBs are 4 deep. Without PacMan, they can survive.

Johnny Lee Higgins - Fast deep threat to put across from Jones.

Earl Everett - I think Everett is very underrated. His stock has been falling of late due to measurables, but there is plenty of game film to show that at worst he could be a great special teams player and spot-duty LB.

Deshawn Wynn - RB to backup White. Paired with Hall and a cheap FA, the RBs just might make it through.

If they can sign a DE like Grant Wistrom, that will help.
If the Titans, after sitting back and watching quality guys go in FA by being fiscally responsible, then turn around and, out of desperation, sign a guy like Winstrom to a big contract, I will be ticked.

Ravens | Mason could be on the block Published Thu Mar 22 10:46:00 a.m. CT 2007

(KFFL) Mike Preston, reporting for the Sporting News, reports it wouldn't be surprising if the Baltimore Ravens were shopping veteran WR Derrick Mason. Mason expressed dissatisfaction with his role in the offense at the end of the season, a recurring topic the past two years. The Ravens have enough talent and depth to trade him.

What about this guy?

Personally I am satisfied with the off-season so far. It's not over, we still have the draft and then the june 1st cuts. When free agency started, we were one of the teams with quite a lot of cap room. Most of the other teams have went through a large portion of theres, leaving us on or close to the top for the june 1st cuts. And with some of the contracts that were thrown around, I feel the team is justified by not spending.

As for Mason, he's welcome back in Nashville with open arms as far as I'm concerned.

Colin, that looks to be about as solid of a draft as we could hope for.

As for the signings so far, I think we are getting great value. Especially with Harper. We got an unknown commodity in Fowler, but as mentioned before he plays with a lot of grit. That sounds like a MLB to me. He also was a special teams ace, so I think its save to assume he sheds blocks well, which should help our run defense.

Deep down I'm pulling for Tulloch to really shine, but as a fan of the team, I want the best player on the field at each position. And in our division, we are in the Nickel probably more often than any package, so the MLB isn't on the field as much as someone might think.

Justin Gage: Hard to get excited about Gage, especially when Curtis or Stallworth would have been a better addition. That said, getting a veteran 3rd/4th WR on board was well-advised.

*** Eh. Didn't we try this before when his name was Tyrone Calico?

Bryan Scott: Still relatively young, but being on his third team in 5 years is hardly reassuring. That said, Lamont Thompson was the worst safety in the NFL, AFL, and CFL last year so Scott's addition is bound to be an improvement. Also, if the team takes a safety to work in to the mix, Scott can likely play a little corner as well.

*** I don't think he makes the 53 man. Period. Haven't seen his deal but it has to be low. I don't

think he is one bit better than Lamont. Hope, Thompson, Fuller, Lowery, Scott, new draftee. We

sure aren't keeping 6 safeties.

Nick Harper: Excellent signing. While Harper may not be a top corner in the league, he'd be an excellent CB2 if PacMan is welcomed back. If not, then corner is still going to be a big need in the draft. Just imagine if Harper hadn't signed though...

*** Great updrade/depth. If Woolfolk is on the 53 man then somebody should have their head examined.

I see our picks in this likely order: CB, WR, DE, RB.

However, I think we still have some sort of trade by or at the draft. I just hear rumblings about Asante. Could something possibly in the works? I think they package the lower picks (6 picks in the 4-7th rounds) to gain an additional 1st day pick or two.

this is going to be very interesting how Reinfeldt handles the RB situation.....

we could get anyone of these guys:

Brown

Dillon

Hicks (man of many talents, but master of none)

Turner (the leader of the bunch)

Toefield (i think he's unrestricted and still out there...or course the injury concern though)

or

a rookie

We obviously need someone .... i wonder who they will choose and if it money is the only prerequisite.

the title needs to be updated.... maybe we can still trade for McGahee... but i doubt it, i think the Ravens have him

Toefield just re-signed... I would love if they traded for Julius Jones for a 3 or 4. He would be a nice combo with Lendale Fat
