Titans granted permission to talk with Drew Rosenhaus (1 Viewer)

Ministry of Pain

Titans have offered up their 2nd rounder and a player(mystery) for Boldin and have been granted permission to talk with Boldin's agent. One has to assume that this deal is about done since the Cards are OK with the meat of the trade.

1. I hate Bill Parcells right about now...Miami could have offered a higher 2nd rounder and probably thrown in a 2010 3rd or something. Why is Miami so obtuse when it comes to their WR1 needs. They will never draft a player at WR the caliber of Boldin in all likelihood so why not pony up? Miami said no to COles, never mentioned in the Boldin talks, never interested in any WRs but yet they have a glaring need for some big time help there. Ginn/Camarillo is probably one of the worst starting combos right now in the NFL...find 5-10 worse combos int he league, you can't.

2. Boldin will never sniff 100 catches again in Tennessee. I think he will be a 70-80 catch guy max with KC and VY running the show there. In dyansty you cannot like the outcome of this trade if you own Boldin...just no way.

3. Is Steve Breaston stock thru the roof now? Has to be...time for owners to cash in.

1. I don't think that Miami wants to be spending close to 10 million a year on a WR. I don't think the draft picks are that important.2. Boldin probably becomes an 80-ish catch guy in Tennesee, but he's still a borderline top-10 WR.3. Breaston's stock would go up a lot. I don't think he'd be a sell high though. I could see him as a consistent top-20 WR as the Cards #2. Maybe the Anthony Gonzalez of the desert.I think the biggest winner(besides Breaston) if Boldin were to go to the Titans would be Chris Johnson. Boldin is an excellent run blocker, which would probably help CJ3 bust off a few more long ones and if Boldin is used enough to draw that 8th man out of box(or that defender out of the flat) Johnson could be incredibly difficult to defend.Kerry Collins would also become a decent sleeper at QB, hell he looked decent throwing to Jones and Gage last year. After Philly, the Titans would be my preferred Boldin destination among teams that seem interested.

ESPN said both sides have denied either an offer being made or any parameters being set. Lots of noise flying around but we know the Eagles have made a formal offer and the Ravens are believed to have made a formal offer although I haven't seen confirmation of that yet.

I don't know why Boldin isn't a Dolphin yet either. They have the picks (thanks to the Skins) and they have the need.

Is it just me or does Boldin to the Titans seem like a poor fit? Boldin is going to demand a high salary and seems to fit a more wide open offense. Tennessee seems more of the grind it out and tough D type team.

Seems like a horrible fit fantasy wise, great fit for the Titans making a SB run or two, though...

He's a perfect fit for Tennessee. The Titans have no weapons at WR... zero.Justin Gage is not a legit weapon.Thie will force opposing defenses from stacking.I can't think of a better place for Boldin than Tennessee. The need is very much there.

I think Gage and Nate Washington can combine to be a decent 2/3 combination. Boldin is the #1 they need to make that fall into place.

Anquan Boldin for LenDale plus pick(s)
Not sure why they would want Lendale. Isn't he a similar version of Hightower? White is garbage.
C'mon Banger, you're smarter than that. It's one thing to say you don't think LenDale White is an impact player, but comparing him to garbage or Tim Hightower? :goodposting: He was a workhorse for Tennessee in 2007 and then played wonderfully in 2008 as a short yardage pounder. He had 15 rushing TDs and took to the role of the hammer to Johnson's speed with ease. White can be an immensely helpful player to the Cards [or another team], and it immeasurably better than Tim Hightower.

Boy was this thread a load of ...

“Let me clarify things,’’ Fisher said. “There was a lot of speculation, a lot of reports (Friday) evening. We never at any time made an offer to the Arizona Cardinals. We left several messages with them (Friday) night but they never returned our calls. We didn’t get in touch with them until before the draft today and they said that they weren’t interested in moving him.’’

Cmon MOP I expect better from you man, I was taking this as fact

Wow. We don't know what those messages were, but I think an NFL team with a revenue north of $200 million could find at least a secretary somewhere who could call back the Titans and ask what they might offer.
