Titans Scrambling at WR (1 Viewer)

The Titans are going to be horrible this year. No Pacman, worst RB's in the league, worst WR's in the league, avg/below avg defense. Young is good but he's gonna have to be superman to win 7 games this year.
Yes, I would suggest everyone who plays them this year, just take the week off. No need to prepare or game plan. Don't watch film. Just keep saying to yourself...they suck....they suck.
There is a slight difference between message board chat and Head Coaches/Def. coordinators, yes?Teams have already watched countless hours of game film to try to address the VY factor of the titans.

I play 8 in the box and make him beat me with something deep. I have seen Uncle Rico and VY reminds me of this throwing motion.
Sort of like the Giants did? :hot:
Ah yes, that stout Giants defense! :hot: :o

The Giants Defense didn't lose that game. Eli throwing 2 picks in the 4th quarter (1 in Giants territory that setup the Titans winning FG) did.
I didn't realize the Giants defense hadn't been on the field for all those glorious points.
Other than Kiwi's brain fart when he should have sacked Vince to end the drive, I'm not sure how the blame rests with the Giants Defense. There's not much you can do when your QB turns the ball over in your territory with under a minute left in a tie game.

Looks like things are heating up with Titans/Keyshawn:

Fisher: Titans, Keyshawn have interest in each other

By Terry McCormick, tmccormick@nashvillecitypaper.com

May 17, 2007

Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher acknowledged after Thursday’s mini-camp practice that the team and wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson have mutual interest in each other.

Johnson’s agent, Jerome Stanley, would neither confirm nor deny in Thursday’s edition that the 34-year-old receiver has a visit to the Titans lined up, though there were indications of interest by Tennessee in Johnson. He also declined to address any contract negotiations that may or may not have taken place between the two sides.

“There’s mutual interest right now I’d say on both parties’ part. I think we’ll probably look into the possibility of pursuing things. Where that goes, I can’t tell you,” Fisher said.

You must be kidding. You do realize the Giants were up 21-0 with less than 10 minutes left in that game???

The defense gave up 3 TD's and a FG in less than 10 minutes.

Sure Eli helped by throwing 2 INT's to Pacman, and Pacman had a great punt return in there as well, but Vince got hot and the Giants couldn't stop the Titans offense at all during that stretch, so of course you place a lot of the blame on the defense. One stop would have done it during that stretch, bt they couldn't make it. Kiwi's blunder on 4th and 10 was the most grievous, but the Giants defense played lousy down the stretch.

And I am REALLY hoping the Titans sign Keyshawn. Make it happen!

You're trying to make an argument that all the defense had to do was make 1 stop. All the Giants offense had to do was get a first down or not throw a pick in their own territory. The Titans offense had scoring drives of 46, 36, 76 and 18 yards in that 4th quarter. The 76 yarder is definitely on the defense shoulders. The other 3 drives the Titan's offense got the ball inside Giants territory.I'd easily give you that there is plenty of blame to go around, but I'm not sure how you can lay everything at the fault of the Giants defense when the offense only managed 1 first down in 4 seperate possessions and turned the ball over in their own territory 3 out of those 4 times. This was also against the #32 ranked defense in the league mind you.

So your point is that the whole team mailed it in?What sparked the debate by the way - why is this important to whether the Titans are scrambling at WR or not?

:hijacked: Can we get back on topic now?

depth chart has of now according to fbg is -

Brandon Jones,

Justin Gage,

Roydell Williams,

Courtney Roby,

Jonathan Orr,

Paul Williams,

Joel Filani,

Chris Davis,

Clinton Solomon,

Biren Early,

David Givens (inj)

how many wrs do they keep? if they keep five receivers and givens goes on the pup, who is on the bubble? i think it is safe to say that the only wrs that will definately make the team are brandon jones ( of course ) and paul williams ( 1st day draft pick in the 3rd this year ).

i say ( although i am really not up to par with my knowledge of the titans wr situation) the opening day roster depth chart is brandon jones, justin gage, roydell williams/courtney roby/paul williams with roby or r. williams gone once givens is off of the pup ( if he is not placed on ir ).

You'd think at least two of the three they drafted this year will make it. The third will go to the practice squad. Givens on PUP. Barndon Jones and Gage should be safe.Roydell Williams, Roby, Orr will fight for a spot or two. Solomon and Early will be cut or go to the PS. I believe Orr can go on the PS as well, not sure about Roydell and Roby.

you would think, but i'm not so sure about that. i don't see joel filani or chris davis making it over courtney roby or roydell williams so.... MAYBE roby, but i doubt it.

Chris Davis was probably drafted for his return skills - they are still needed while Pacman is out so unless someone else has grown some return skilss I'd be surprised if he is the odd man out...
