Annual thread
There's probably almost nothing ya don't know about Hopkins, Ridley, and Boyd.
Ridley has supposedly worked harder than prior years this off-season. Idk about that but let's just say he's put work in.
Hopkins has gotten everyone together to work out a few times and they've gotten together with Levis other times too. A lot of work put in by this group.
Hopkins has always been the alpha since Andre retired. Levis obviously gravitated towards him and idk that that reasonably changes. It's possible the Ridley love is too strong now. I think people really gotta chew on this if you've predetermined one will have a clear advantage in productivity.
Predicting the same stats for both is lazy but it's also hmmm. If you happen to struggle with which one- my advice would be to use ADP to answer this question. No idk why this has come up so often but social media does weird things.
Kyle Phillips is Wes Welker II except he's made of glass. Every camp is OMG he's a great route runner and every season has him getting signed up often. He could be anywhere from cut to stealing Boyd's spot. I've got the former. Phillips was a PR but he's muffed a number of them.
NWI was a classic UDFA making his living on special teams and filling in in such a non exciting but hustling way, you'd swear you could hear him say "yes coach." It's been a few years and he's gotten noticably more comfortable. He looked overmatched as a starter but as a fourth...that may be his spot.
Treylon (what hasn't been said?) let me remind everyone that he too has always been a camp darling so it'll be difficult to gauge where he stands while veterans rest this summer. He will supposedly be used on KR and the GM has said he had an issue with the prior staff not utilizing his rushing ability as he showed in college. Does it matter? Is the door closed? He has as high a ceiling as anyone with the last pick of a draft. I say stop thinking about him and just sit on him. He also could be traded for peanuts for all we know. It's always a fair pick to draft high ceilings with the last pick. Burks has posted workout videos and recently some muscle flexing pics and he's most assuredly made Henry proud. He worked out privately with Hopkins too. His efforts have been noteworthy.
Mason Kinsey is the guy that should be cut but all the prior WR corps had guys making mistakes while he hustled and did things right. Sorry guy this is probably not your year as the new WRs won't be doing that
Colton Dowell could already be done with his NFL career. A 7th round pick that was invited to the Titans local pro day and outshined the highly rated Tennessee WRs two years ago. He tore his ACL and was a "need a few years to develop" type. The NFL world is not kind to this type. He looked lost on the field and definitely got more comfortable so who cares if a rookie looks lost initially. He has size, speed, and hands we covet but this longshot is expected to be on PUP.
Jhaquan Jackson was drafted as a KR and showed some chops at WR in the spring. I'm hesitant here but leaving a light on.
Kearis Jackson was supposedly going to be a better pro than college player in the let's all roll our eyes together fashion. Well he looked pretty good last summer. He handled returns and looked fine with the few WR opportunities he got. I've got him locked into a sixth role and someone's gotta take it from him.
Treshaun Harrison was an interesting UDFA last year. He made plays and looked the part in the summer. Idk why he didn't work his way up the depth chart. Probably because he isn't 6-6 with 4.2 speed or some exaggeration but he looked good. He also did well on ST. Maybe the Titans have a fifth sixth WR for another team to pickup off waivers? It's hard to see a role in TEN but the guy can play. If he's UFL material then I'll definitely have him in DFS. He was to be a developmental project but when a team adds three free agents in two years, the whole landscape changes.
Burks' and Phillips' problem is they may be a better WR than the depth guys but the team may need the best ST players not the best WR of the bunch.
Bryce Oliver and Sam Schnee picked a tough team to join as UDFAs. After the top three, these guys all have roles they do well and are young. It's a tough mountain to climb for them.
Tyler Boyd's one year contract has 1.2 mil guaranteed. 750k plus bonus. The vet minimum is 840k. He is 29 and he has clearly lost a step. The door is open for him to not make the team. I wouldn't at all say it's likely but camp could have us discussing this. (His total is 2.4 mil, not to confuse, tried to word that for presentation. Please note guaranteed $)
