Titans Wide Receivers 2025 (1 Viewer)

Totally regular typical UDFA

I do not know what to think of this kid
What I wonder is if he reached out or if they reached out to him. Either way I'm sooooooo glad I grabbed him in the 5th.
Ocho put it on his X profile and mentioned it in his show and anyone in the NFL that was interested could go.

The radio host today said "they need this kid just for PR" and I've been stewing on that. Worst team in football and talk is so stale besides Cam and...he's kind of not wrong. Not that teams keep players for PR but it's still not wrong

Considering the Titans should be (not officially) trying for a better draft spot... Having someone that can sell jerseys might factor into the final cuts.

Probably won't though.

That said, if I'm a rookie and Eight-Five sent out an all call for a wr camp I'm there a week early. So I don't know what's wrong with everyone else in the NFL.

I know it's early so it probably doesn't mean much but

ESPN has it as Ridley, Lockett and Burks

Draft Sharks has it as Jefferson, Ridley and Lockett

Ourlads has it as Jefferson, Ridley and Lockett
Appreciate the leg work
Yeah what can we say about Burks that hasn't been said?

Callahan said Jefferson is looking to and the team trying to rekindle his role as a receiver and not just the blocking type he's been. Can he be a good WR that happens to block well?

I think the Oliver and Burks talk is just trying to talk them up and trade them. I'm going to run with the idea that the Titans will keep 6 or want to keep 6. (when I play Madden I keep 6 lol)

I'm running with the idea that Jefferson, Ridley and Lockett will be the starters, this leaves 3 spots.

If the Titans cut Burks he carries a dead $$$$ hit of 4.5 mil but if they can trade him then it's only 1.9 and they get 2.6 in cap savings. Maybe they are just prepared to take the hit if they can't trade him but if it were me I might say ok just let him warm the bench and let him walk next year.
Bri said that Jackson was a ST contributor so maybe they keep him around?
Dowell, Oliver, Kinsey and Porshe are likely cuts/trade/PS

Ridley
Lockett
Jefferson
Burks or Ayomanor
Jackson
Dike

restpro to the PS. Ayomanor too if they can't trade or don't cut Burks.

Nothing much in all the WR writeups

A fair point about Jefferson and Burks not playing ST and it being required.
Also, odd but true- why not put Dowell on the PS if he's an elite athlete?

One FF writer compared Tony Franklin to Restrepo and doesn't expect much despite the familiarity.

One wrote Dike versus Jackson and I'm hmmm to that fictitious battle. It's exaggerated but how much?

Surprised there isn't more talk about Ayomanor in here.
We were in his player thread then I started the group one as I usually do.
It should ramp up when camp opens.

I'm noticing I miss a lot of tweets because people or autocorrect refer to him as Eric.

It's interesting how he likes contact. Always some minor thing that I gravitate to.

He did very well and IIRC he and Dike were shut down by the CBs later in shorts. Perfect learning experience

A bit bored and anxious for the season. Anyone else? I'm thinking Lockett is the key to at least us in FF-
I find myself as the only one consistently pointing out the Titans have never had slot production worth noting. I've been fooled a dozen times only for fizzled out stats.

Anywho- ya got Ridley getting 1000 yards or whatever. Then you put Lockett in for how much?
There's not a lot of pie left for the rookies to eat.
What do you have for projections here? I struggle to get Restrepo much.

Elic IS a blocker that played hockey. He's a little different. Sometimes he's using his hands like a hockey player (or DE) and I don't care. Whatever works. He knows he's gotta win and I don't think that's as common in the league as it should be so I appreciate it. He even dives after guys at times of desperation. His college film definitely looks like ooh a coach will like this guy.

Dike is a technician. I mentioned earlier how he kept getting open deep. I had arguments with reporters telling me he's a full package WR and I'm saying yeah well why's he not get one single sentence that he had any other type catch? Y'all have any highlights on your phone? Show me! I see his college tape. He IS well rounded. I think maybe I overstated that deep stuff above.

Oliver's "my ball" "violence" is significant and yeah maybe it shouldn't be and corners in today's league should do better but until they're not trying to be pretty, a guy that rips it out of the air has to be of some comfort to a young QB. The WR coach banging a drum for him saying he's been making plays for a year, he must play more- that matters. They can't NOT play him. Even with the post NWI angle of his hustle and stellar ST play- a coach has to follow thru on earning offensive reps due to ST work. He can't show all these rookies that it doesn't matter. But how many snaps? 10 that we don't care about for FF or a significant number?

I've got Dike with the least of the three.
Elic playing a bunch, Oliver coming in and I've got no pie left for Dike to eat.
Lockett getting hurt or old man dinged up and missing some time- that gets me room to add Dike some stats.
But he was picked first! You know what it's like to draft. He wasn't their first choice and is gonna sit. That would be nonsense.
I go back to blocking and how rookies commonly struggle with it. He looks typical. Elic and Oliver do not at all. They're oh so willing blockers like they like doing it.
I still figure Elic over Dike. His game translates so well. Besides blocking, rookies get pressed. The hockey guy likes contact so again...sorry Chimere.
I don't see Chimere and Elic all that different on tape. They both look very well coached. Nice routes and hips and hands. Chimere has a burst after the catch that Elic doesn't.
I mentioned hockey a lot because the little things traditionally get rookies on the field and Elic is odd that he comes ready made good at the little things.

What do you guys have for projections?
Is Lockett a roadblick for you too in giving rookies enough stats?

There is a way for one of the young guys to get involved, but think an injury to Ridley, Lockett, or Chig would be required to make any of the rest fantasy viable. That, and Ward plying well.

Personally I see it as a tale of two seasons. To start the year it will be Ridley and Lockett will be one and two respectively and as the season goes on Ridley's erratic play and Lockett's lack of juice will end up with two different wrs as their most targeted in the second half of the year.

I saw plenty of Dike at Wisconsin. Loved him as a player and he was a good reliable college WR who did not get the ball thrown his way enough. I didn’t blame him for leaving.

That said, I sure did not see enough qualities that I would ever consider him more than depth/STs in the NFL and that was only reinforced last year.

Shouldn’t Chig be discussed here as well? I know the title reads “WR”

But with Cam Ward, Okonkwo could be the focal point of the passing offense.

There's a TE thread and he is in a competition this year. He split snaps with Whyle last year.
Titans were so bad that most people seemed to kinda discard them. It happens. I get it. Just...it's not two years ago. He's gotta get it together- block, use his body like TEs do, and maybe special teams.

Most previews are out.
Many do not mention Oliver and Jackson.

They're mildly significant and this is a common oversight.
Y'all have played FF for this many years and know that playing ST is key to a depth WR making the team.
These two play ST, three of the rookies do not but will be learning.

There's been a lot of waterbugs from college the last 4-5 years. They always have moments but rarely make the team. Jackson did tho. Early on the coach said he needed to get him more involved in the offense. He did a bit with a cute play here n there. That speedy bugger is hard to cover. During camp, he came a long way as a receiver and was being compared to young Derrick Mason. Mason even laughed and agreed he did look like him. The dam broke as Jackson fumbled punt after punt and was in the doghouse. Callahan would apologize and say he had Jackson (and Chestnut) there too long and didn't handle it well. This kid is an exciting player and many many many last summer pointed out the Titans sorely needed some excitement.

Dike was drafted in a more significant than ya probably think way- to be a returner. I am not saying they don't want him to be a WR or any variation from that- just that his return game was a HUGE selling point for them.

The Titans set worst ever records on special teams. Coach had to fire his longtime friend as ST coach and refused in season when everyone kept demanding it. You would laugh at the highlights type bad ST play.

I've said a few times I DO expect Dike to take Jackson's job and apology or not, it's still hard to be well received by a staff after being in the doghouse so they may even quietly want to move past Jackson a little bit.
The opposite is true too. As desperate as they are for a return guy, someone could really become a coach's pet if they establish themselves.
This is a far easier path than the WR room for one of Dike or Jackson.

Oliver on ST was a fortunate gift. He didn't know ST and was just a WR. He didn't seem likely to make the team or the PS despite making plays all camp- until he figured out ST. When he got in, he was a darn good gunner. Announcers mentioning and coach quotes singling him out. Again, worst ever ST and suddenly they had a great gunner. He was a huge relief for the staff. As much as I think it's hard to get out of the doghouse, it's gonna be the opposite with Oliver and the gunner role. I don't think it's possible for a rookie to overtake him as a gunner after what they went thru last season. I think he's a lock to make the team as a gunner. We can debate him as a WR of course.

Restrepo was unexciting as a returner in mini camp. He has been exceptional since minicamp ended as far as working out and practicing. If he comes back with some wiggle after he catches them and can push Dike and Jackson for that role, that would help him too.

This has always always always been an overlooked aspect to rookies making a team.

Elic rarely gets mentioned on ST and the coaches don't seem to care. I don't expect that to last just the way coaches are, but I do think that's a sign he is expected to have a significant role on offense. It's abnormal for a fourth round WR too so it likely will change but...all the ST talk this offseason and he's rarely mentioned

Titans turn with national coverage as TV and radio preview all teams.
Dike was almost never mentioned.
Elic widely assumed to be a contributor.
Jefferson is either starting or cut- didn't hear any talk of a backup role.
Oliver has been mentioned by some; not others.
Ridley is a very common sleeper pick or "could surprise some people."
Restrepo rarely mentioned which I found weird
Burks ...about as you'd expect people would say.
