Titus Young (1 Viewer)

Just curious about others' thoughts about Young. At the beginning of the season there was talk that he was the #3 in Detroit with great speed and a decent WR - but that him becoming the #2 WR across from Calvin was going to be a while in coming.

However, the target numbers seem to tell a different story (as do the production numbers):

Burleson targets by week: 5, 9, 2

T. Young targets by week: 1, 7, 8

Their production numbers for each week:

Burleson: 5-60, 7-93, 2-12

T. Young: 0-0, 5-89, 4-51

I realize the two have differing skill sets and are used differently in the offense, but is Young in the process of "taking over" as the #2 - at least in terms of numbers?

Thoughts??

it sounds like Burleson is drawing some coverage his way, where Titus may not have much attention which is why he's being targeted more. However, I don't have access to coach's tape to be able to know 1st hand

Compared more than once to DJAX in skill/ability, and the increasing targets tell the story. Burleson is not the black Welker, that's for sure. I think the time to sell high on Burleson was a week ago. As long as Stafford is healthy, the #2 WR on the Lions has good value. I think that Young is taking the role over Burleson. He's been picked clean off my waiver wires. (I got him in one, and missed on the other)
