**TNF on Prime - Dallas 6-5-1 at Detroit 7-5**(-3, 54.5) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Must win for both teams, winner will have the inside track for the last Playoff spot which is likely gonna be Green Bay, Dallas and Detroit fighting it out
Dallas would appear to have the momentum coming into the game

Was it just last year that the Lions lost because of the whole tackle eligible fiasco?

My fellow Unga Bunga man, Dan Campbell, is not gonna let his guys forget about that.

I always worry about the clock striking midnight and Dak turning back into a pumpkin but it seems like these Cowboys are a different team.

Another way to put this game would be to frame it as

Lions on a losing streak, Cowboys on a winning streak. Cowboys are easily the superior team on paper, in their souls and after this game, in the statistics. There is no way the Cowboys could lose to a team so banged up and so snake bitten, considering how great Dallas has been playing. No way a team with playoff aspirations and bigger things loses to a team on the downside like the Lions. Cowboys said they'll play anyone anywhere and they aren't lying either.

Cowboys win big in an easy matchup.

I see what you are doing here. And I like it.

Dallas has not been nearly as good on the road, and is coming off back to back emotional wins. Give me the gritty Lions in a tough game 34-27

Speaking of which I always here about "dak owns the Eagles/Dak Owns the division"

Anyone got his win/loss record outside the division?

Outside the division and on the road?

:scared:

If ASB plays this one could play out very much like recent Lions/Giants game
Plenty of points and MAYBE The Home Team pulls it out
If ASB is out I still see plenty of points but maybe The Home Team is a little short on ammo
With ASB leaning out
I'll say..

Boys- 34

Lions- 27

Injury report for Lions:
Out - Kerby Joseph, Kalif Raymond, Brock Wright, Shane Zylstra
Questionable - Branch, ARSB, and most of the starting OL. Though being questionable is a step up for Glasgow from last week.
Amon-Ra with absolutely no practice time. Not that he needs it per se, but still seems very optimistic for him to play. Even though Lions can't afford to lose this one, plausibly better for him to rest and be healthier for the final 4 games.
Looking like a receiving corps(e) of Jamo, TeSlaa, Tom Kennedy and Dominic Lovett with names like Ross Dwelley and Anthony Firsker at TE.

I don't really have a reason why the Lions can win because they aren't playing well and the Cowboys are. But the Lions haven't lost two in a row for more than 3 years and that streak will not end tonight. The Lions will use their trademark grit and gut out a tough win.

REVENGE from 1970:
Lions 5, Cowboys 0.

In all seriousness, the Lions drive down the field and score a TD, then Dan Campbell goes for 2.

Lions 25, Cowboys 24.

I'm going Dallas 28-24 tonight on a short week with some quick strikes to CD and GP with just enough JW and the ground game sprinkled in
Dallas is not the same team they were prior to the trade deadline
They aren't world beaters but they are rounding into a Wildcard Playoff team about to go Riverboat Gambling with house money and future draft picks in their back pocket
This team is about to morph quickly into one of the more entertaining teams to watch week in and week out, Dak Prescott is having a lot to do with all this as well

If they win tonight I’d bet they take the East. I can’t believe we’ve gotten here in the NFCE, but Dallas wins tonight and they probably run the table. The 57 year trend of no repeat divisional winners in this division will continue on.

That’s my way of saying GO LIONS!!!

This post says more about what you think of the current state of the Eagles than it does of the Cowboys. Is that correct? Even if the Cowboys win out, the Eagles should still win that division.

This game is going to be difficult. St Brown has not practiced all week. Now Branch is hurt too. Third WR and kick returner Raymond is out. So Teslaa might finally get some targets. Not sure who is playing TE with LaPorta and Wright both out. Might have a patchwork o-line too.

  • Safety Kerby Joseph -- out (knee).
  • Wide receiver Kalif Raymond -- out (ankle).
  • Tight end Brock Wright -- out (neck).
  • Tight end Shane Zylstra -- out (knee).
  • Center Graham Glasgow -- questionable (knee).
  • Guard Kayode Awosika -- questionable (foot).
  • Safety Brian Branch -- questionable (toe, ankle).
  • Offensive tackle Taylor Decker -- questionable (shoulder, rest).
  • Offensive tackle Penei Sewell -- questionable (shoulder).
  • Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown -- questionable (ankle).
  • Running back Sione Vaki -- questionable (thumb).
Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. on Amazon.

Must win for both teams. I don't believe for a second that Amon-Ra plays in this one, that would REALLY surprise me, and if he does, I expect him to just be a decoy, with not even a limited practice. I am under the impression Branch, Sewell, and Decker all play. So I'm projecting with that in mind.

I think this is gonna be a real test for Dallas as far as Quinnen Williams and the new look run D goes. I think with no Amon-Ra, the Lions come out really run heavy. I think Gibbs is my RB1 overall pick this week. I expect Jameson Williams increased role to easily outweigh increased defensive attention. This is probably the most comfortable I've ever felt starting him. Dallas insists on playing Kenneth Murray even after trading for Logan Wilson for some reason (Murray is 90th out of 90 LBs in PFF run defense grade) and I think the Cowboys DL could pressure Goff a lot, especially DROY candidate Donovan Ezeiruaku.

For Dallas, I think the Lions can slow the run game, but Javonte is always a good bet for a TD. I think Terrion Arnold being out is addition by subtraction for the Lions, and I think this sets up more as a Pickens week than a Lamb week, though always room for both. This feels like a high floor game for Dak. Slight hot take, I think Dallas should stop using Turpin so much and have Lamb playing almost all slot snaps. Flournoy is better than Turpin anyway in my opinion. I do have some concern this could be a huge Aidan Hutchinson game with 7th rounder Nathan Thomas starting at LT.

Lions-31
Cowboys-24

If I'm wrong about the Lions I think are playing, I could easily switch to Dallas winning.

This is your key. DAL has been much better against the run lately. If the boys can shut down the running game, I'm all over Dallas. But Gibbs isn't just "any running game".

No steady, that was two years ago.

Last year the Lions ran up the score on the Cowboys.

Time for some payback.

Omar’s coming!

Yes to the first part. Disagree with the second part. Because of the Dallas tie (which effectively counts as a 1/2 win), the Eagles have to notch one more game in the win column than the Cowboys. If the cowboys win out they will end up with (effectively) 11.5 wins, so the Eagles have to win 12 games. They currently have 8 wins with @LAC, vs Raiders, @ Wash, @ Bills and vs Wash. They can only lose one of those games. I'm.....skeptical.

Going against Gibbs for my division and I don’t approve this message.

Jk

Always love reading your analysis @travdogg

Lions NEED Hutchinson to dominate tonight and keep Dak off-balance. The back end is too beat up to hold up if Dak has time in the pocket.

Between the Lions’ OL injuries and the Cowboys improved running defense, I think that Dallas has the upper hand. Unless the Cowboys turn the ball over, I expect them to win. Dallas 31, Detroit 17.

Is anyone starting Kennedy? Assuming ARSB doesn’t play.
With Rome and MH jr limited, I might be desperate enough.
I am. Doesn't matter, but I had to start someone just for my own pride sake haha. I have almost zero shot of making the playoffs but still at least ^a^ chance
