Buffalo at Miami (-2.5, 49) Vegas says this is high scoring but I don’t see it quite that way. Typically the TNF games tend to be lower scoring and I could see something like 21-17 rather easily, these 2 teams played to like 21-14 in the last game of the season.
Follow the Targets
Hill 12, Waddle 5, Achane 7 and that’s about the extent of it right now.
When you add in Achane and his availability tonight, even if he can play and has a sore ankle which he likely will, Miami would be best served throwing him the ball and advising him to get out of bounds or avoid too much contact just for tonight because they need his receiving abilities if they are going to beat Buffalo.
I am anticipating Wright being active tonight but not used except in a real emergency or pinch, perhaps if Miami had a big lead which isn’t likely but there aren’t too many situations where Wright would be seeing a lot of action tonight. That leaves Jeff Wilson as the wildcard. MoP doesn’t think any of these RBs will see anything above 8-10 carries, most of Miami’s attack tonight will be thru Tua and the air.
Tua Tags was 7th/8th last week overall for QBs, not bad for a double digit grab and QB15 off the board, he’s doing pretty well already and has a soft schedule on the horizon. Tua is going to have to produce a minimum of 250 yds thru the air if Miami is going to have any chance. The Nickleback for Buffalo who is very good, Taron Johnson is OUT. Look for Tua and McDaniel to go to work out of the slot tonight where I expect Tyreek Hill to make a few appearances and work that middle of the field trying to break a long one racing towards and up the sidelines, expect the same with Waddle who needs to avoid contact. I would have Achane running up the sidelines deep all night long and try at least a couple longer throws for him, you know the bubble screens and behind the LOS tosses happen frequently, that’s another way they will involve Achane
You talk about spreading the ball around, Buffalo had 5 WRs split up about 14 targets, Keon Coleman did garner the most with 5 but then guys like Curtis Samuel got just 2. I would not cut Samuel just yet although in many of my redraft leagues I watched him released on to waivers this week. Keon Coleman has been a hot topic, don't think he will have a ton of success tonight vs the Miami secondary. I like Samuel as a sleeper tonight or Shakie in the slot, just my opinion
Dalton Kincaid was a huge disappointment Week 1, only a couple targets, maybe he gets more involved tonight but Knox doesn’t seem to be going away in this offense yet. James Cook nabbed 3/32 to add with about 70 yds on the ground and only a 3.5 ypc which will wear thin after a while. Still combined 100 yds, 3 catches but loses out on 2 rush TDs to Josh Allen
Allen ended up with 4 TDs last week and the No 2 overall QB behind Baker Mayfield, yep.He is a Miami killer and can’t imagine anyone is going to not start him tonight. He is dealing with a lef hand injury, we’ll see if that has any impact on this game at all.
