TO STAFF: Functionality Request (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys,

I have a request for enhanced funtionality. It would be nice to be able to search through the daily newsletters by Keyword. Currently you can only search on past blogger articles. While much of the information from the blogger is the same, the comments are generaly not there. This is not a high priority request just something to think about. It would be nice to be able to piece together a player's summer/preseason history/timeline progression with comments leading upto the draft.

Your Pal,

:fro:

not sure if this would be what you're looking for, but it might work. I have my FBG daily updates sent to my gmail account, so if I want to find out if he's been in any big stories lately, I can just enter his name in the search field and it will pull up all the emails that his name was mentioned in.

That is a great workaround and I will do that next year. But not everyone wants to use gmail. Maybe there can be a seperate email updates page with search capabilities. Just a request.

Try going to Google.com and entering the following

"Firstname Lastname" "Volume 7" Update site:www.footballguys.com

You should get most if not all of the 2006 updates involving that player.

Couldn't you find the date in the article from the Blogger and then simply match up the date with the dates on the daily updates? That might involve an extra step or two but should accomplish the same think.

I think that's a bit onerous. One might not know the exact date, but rather have a vague recollection that there was a blurb in commentary on an e-mail update several days before [event], and want to refresh one's memory. The blogger search works well.

The OP suggested something like that should be implemented for e-mail updates, which was a most excellent idea, IMO.

Learning to use Google? Priceless.Sadly, the above trick only works through the last free update. Google likely does not inxex within the subscriber area, due to login issue or robots.txt entries or both.
