Terrell Owens, WR DAL

News: The Dallas Morning News reports that Terrell Owens has been caught sleeping in meetings, something the team is aware of and even knew about before signing Owens. The star receiver claims he has a sleeping disorder. "Those are personal health issues, and we all have them in varying ways. I don't say that as though it's something that's irritating at all," said Dallas owner Jerry Jones.

Analysis: Unless you're sleeping through your Fantasy season, Owens should be starting week in and week out for your squad. He's earning his top-notch Fantasy rep thanks to a burst in production, boosted by the play of new Dallas QB Tony Romo.

Isn't that guy full of it?... He's falling asleep in meetings and has the nerves to say he has a sleeping disorder... did his dog stole his playbook too?...

Shouldn't he take pills not to sleep in meetings?

Leave the alone...you have no room to say anything if you don't know if it's truly a medical condition. People have that problem...if TO does, then he does. Stop looking for a story.

I wonder if I could use this defense at work? Tell them I have a sleeping disorder and maybe they'll let me bring a pillow to all the boring meetings.

Jerry Jones said it was a NON issue. Some people just like to try and find anything they can ON T.O. and try to spin it into a negative.. To the poster of this thread.

These thing crack me up....

T.O. has been performing well and has caused no problems as of late, so lets just stir things up by talking about being sleepy during meetings.

Maybe the guy is tired from working his #### off all week during practice!!!

While I like most, have a curious interest in what TO will do on the field...the meeting room isnt' where I look for controversy. Let the guy be and move past him....

Maybe discuss something like Merriman doping up and blaming a full blown anabolic steroid on a supplement!

But no...small market team we overlook and tend to "believe" him because he is such a stand up guy right?

Not me, that team is a close 2nd behind the Bengals in my eyes....Kiel (selling cough syrup) Castillo..(juiced before the NFL, and had to write apology letters to all teams) Foley..(drunken and fighting with cops, gets shot...probably ending his career) and now Lights Out.

Wow, it's amazing how biased people are.....if you are willing to jump on one guy for sleeping...maybe look at a guy who actually broke a league rule.

:boxing:

Real story or not, how many times can you say "TO is a clown, idiot, disgrace, blight on humanity" before you get tired of it?

People are tired of getting worked up about TO.

I disagree. Dallas Morning News deemed it newsworthy and he just shared. We don't have enough news posters around here lately

As far as I can tell T.O. hasn't caused any problems this year whatsoever. The media on the other hand...

Believe me... I'm just as tired as everybody else hearing about TO off field issues...

I just found it amusing and posted it here... I could care less if TO is late to every meeting / doesn't practive / sleeps all day - as long as he's giving me the 8/100/1 on Sunday - I'm fine...

I posted it because I found it amusing that he dulled his bosses in saying that he has a sleeping disorder and falls asleep during boring meetings... this must be "selective sleep disorder" since I never saw him snoring on the sidelines when the other team drives up on the Cowboys  (let's hope I have not affended anyone that has a similar disorder - not the intent)...

I found it even more amusing that the Cowboys/Jones have to come out and support him... it surely is a non-issue / deal with it internally any way you want to... but to have the owner stating that it's a known disorder, bla, bla... give me a break... we all know he's a pain in the @rse / just decline to comment on it...

Anyhow, like I said... I just wanted to report it because I was amused by this new mini-chapter in the saga... I'll be cheering him on at Fedex Field on sunday for sure...

Damn, gotta hate a sleeping disorder that only rears it's head during meetings at work. How's the poor guy going to get through life with such a burden?

Terrell Owens may not be catching a lot of footballs, but he seems to be catching plenty of Z's -- in team meetings, most recently on Thursday.

"As long as I don't sleep on Sunday," the Dallas Cowboys receiver said as he left the locker room at the team's practice facility. As is customary on Friday, he did not conduct interviews.

The receiver said in Friday's editions of The Dallas Morning News that he informed the Cowboys about a sleeping problem before signing with them.

"It's nothing new for me to fall asleep in a meeting," he said.

Owens said the problem dates to the first stop of his career in San Francisco, where he said receivers coach George Stewart thought he was staying up too late.

"When I did get to bed early, I would still get to meetings and fall asleep, and it's the same thing here," Owens said.

Owens said he hasn't been staying out late.

He acknowledged that his sleeping habit irks Cowboys passing game coordinator Todd Haley, who had a run-in with Owens at practice earlier this season.

"At some point, give me a little vet credit," Owens said. "But I understand [Haley] wants me to be a professional and be a standup guy for the younger guys on the team."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said it was an issue of "personal health" that wouldn't be discussed outside the team.

"I don't say that as though it's something that's irritating at all," Jones said.

In seven games this season, Owens has 37 catches for 482 yards and five touchdowns.

I know that Owens is good, but this is a load of BS. How can you not control your sleep routine? Take some caffene for god sakes. Do you think that Parcels is soon going to take action on this?

Do you really think Parcells would let TO sleep in meetings if he didn't had a sleeping disorder?

Parcells and Belichick already did it once. LT used to always fall asleep during meetings and was vocal about not paying attention when Belichick would explain the gameplan to the team.

True, it's not so uncommon.LT seems different to me. Sure ya got the partying day after stuff but from what I understand he really wasn't a big part of the game plan changes. He was permitted such freedom to freelance I wonder if that didn't create a boredom that put him to sleep. Very different type player than some would think.

I know it ticked Belichick off, that's for sure. LT probably would have been a better player (in BB's eyes) if he had listened a bit more to Belichick instead of doing his own thing. But LT in the pros was like Arrington in NCAA, and could dominate. But from what I've read, Belichick isn't a big fan of LT, which is understandable.

interestinggood or bad, LT affected everyone not so unlike TO.

Way I see it, this is just further evidence of what an ###-clown this ingrate is. Apologize, rationalize, medicalize, psychopathologize all you want. The only disorder(s) TO likely has is on Axis II, and every person/team with whom he comes in contact will bear the brunt of it.

Freaking narcolepsy. You guys are actually buying this BS. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And then it becomes the TD celebration.

ETA: For those who didn't see it yet, T.O. put the ball down and used it as a pillow. He got penalized for that. Ball as a prop and left his feet during the celebration.
