Todd Collins - QB - Redskins

QB Todd Collins has agreed to a two-year deal with the Redskins.

Somehow we think this quarterback transaction will get overlooked Tuesday. Collins will act as a tutor for Jason Campbell and be the No. 3 quarterback for the Redskins. Mar. 14 - 2:31 pm et

I would think that this would hurt the Redskins ability to trade Ramsey as it is pretty evident with this signing that he will be released. What do the Jets do now? With all the QB signings I'm sure that they will have their choice between Vince Young and Cutler, and now possibly Leinart.

Aaron Brooks, Patrick Ramsey, Brian Griese, Kerry Collins, possibly Gus Frerotte, possibly Joey Harrington, to go along with the three top rookies. How will this all play out? Any guesses?

The Redskins are making me dizzy.

If I hear that they're dumping John Hall and signing Adam Vinatieri to a 6-year, $42 million contract, my head will literally explode.

nah this has been in the works for a while

OUCH the Maytag Repairman is gone......Damon Huard is the new backup, and thats a nightmare lol

I think Casey Printers may end up being the backup though.....hopefully.

Collins landing there makes sense, following Saunders.

I know it has, it is a good signing, he will help Campbell to learn the offense, having come over with Saunders but it does show that the Redsins will have to cut Ramsey.

It was a mystery before?
The Redskins were initially asking for a second or third round pick for Ramsey. Obviously no one was going to give them that, but now no team is going to give them anything.

The analysis is all or nothing for some people. The reports are that the Jets are interested in trading a 4th or a 5th rounder for Ramsey. Don't forget that as the 'Skins have filled their QB roster spots, other QB's in the market (Kitna, Culpepper, Brees) have been snapped up which likewise thins out the market.

As between Ramsey, McCown, and Shaub (who some people think will be traded), Ramsey has the best credentials to step in and start for a team.

Detroit signing Jon Kitna hurt Ramsey's trade value a heck of a lot more than this deal.

You conveniently leave out Aaron Brooks, Brian Griese and the increased likelyhood that the Jets will have their choice between who ever they rate highest of the rookie QBs. abrecher was right that Todd Collins probably does not deserve his own thread, but I seriously doubt that the Jets trade a 4th or 5th round pick now for Ramsey.
