Jan. 3, 2006 We hear the Patriots’ running game is still very much a work in progress as the team scrambles to get its running backs and offensive linemen in harmony in time for the postseason. Now that RBs Corey Dillon and Kevin Faulk are back from the injuries that forced them to the sideline for several games apiece, the Patriots have made a priority of establishing the running game to try to balance the offense and take some of the onus off QB Tom Brady. Word is that the team has gotten great bang for the buck by lining up OT Tom Ashworth, a former college tight end, at fullback. Ashworth is a nimble guy for his size and possesses good speed for an O-lineman. He has great blocking instincts and has been a mauler as a lead blocker for Dillon in the power package the Patriots like to use in short-yardage and goal-line situations. Ashworth has also lined up as a wing tight end and caught a TD pass in the Week 15 win over Tampa Bay Ashworth-6'-6'' 305lb thats a BIG fullback
