"Tom Brady Face" (1 Viewer)

I'd still start a team with him over 31 other QB's in this league. The boy knows how to win.
Yes.Play with a great defense and line up your kicker for FGs.Hes definitely the only QB that can do that.
My buddy was trying to tell me that they were out of timeouts when he threw the pick, and I'm almost positive they had 1 remaining. Still, with 0:24 left against the cover-2 D, I had no illusions that he would get it done.

Actually that`s Brady`s face after a reporter asked him, "if replacing Akron with the Oakland Raiders for home coming in 08 will help or hurt their BCS rankings?"

So, by logic, why haven't the Bears, with great D's, or Ravens, with great D's, or Bucs, with great D's, racked up a few. Or, Manning, with average D's (the alleged great QB, and the best kicker in the history of the game, been racking up titles. Yes, B'more has one, and Tampa one. Brady has 3. There's something there. So, he threw a pick to end his drive. It happens. He's 12-2 in the playoffs, got 3 rings. Who else has that?

Let's be honest here, that would have been an amazing job needing a TD with 1 minute to go and 2 TO's starting from his own 20. That being said if people are silly enough to anoint him captain comeback when all he needs is a FG on a final drive (which is not that hard) then those same silly folks should be calling him a choker now.If memory serves I don't think any (maybe 1) of those times were they losing when he got the ball and that is a VERY different level of pressure. My take is that he has done a very good job overall in these spots, but people get carried away. "All the guy knows is how to win" makes me puke though.

Tell me one QB qho got it done every time. Nobody? So, by that definition, every QB who has ever played is a choker? False logic? I think so. Two losses to twelve wins? A choker? I'd say not getting it done more often than getting it done qualifies one as a choker. Brady, and the Pats, are far from that.

Great picture. :goodposting:

But, wasn't there a commercial by Michael Jordan in which he said he'd missed 100+ times when taking the last shot with the game on the line?

Nobody gets it done every time.

Except Rocky Marciano.

Would've been funny if he was making a Bobby Knight-type game face. LOL at those mocking the three-time SB champ QB.

"Rocky Marciano, Rocky Marciano, why is it everytime I start talking about boxing some white guy has to pull Rocky Marciano out of his ###?!"

RaiderNation is pissed. I'd feel his pain if my team were starting Andrew Walter or Aaron Brooks or even Mike Vick. A Raider Superbowl is something you will never see again in your lifetime.

Bump this in 2075.

 Get 'em next year, guy!

I'm definetly no Patriots fan, but it's very evident of just how great everyone realizes Tom Brady really is (no matter what they say) when people make such a big deal out of the ONE TIME he doesn't win a game at the end.

Early start to the golf game the last two years. Pedestrian-to-poor playoffs the last two years. Face it, the ride was good while it lasted. He made you all believers. And, he'll forever have three rings that you can keep typing about for as long as you live. But, he's not the messiah you Bradophiles make him out to be. If he gets one more ring, it'll be from a flip-box on his wedding day. He's done.

Cracks me up how much people hate Brady's accomplishments. Trust me, he is not losing any sleep over what Brady Haters think.Good thing every team makes the playoffs every year...oh wait, only 12 do...and going to four AFC Championships in six years...so commonplace. Someone has to be the spokesperson for the Patriots...isn't that usually the role the QB takes? I think true fans of the sport know it is not always about stats but about how you lead a team as the QB. He does well for the Patriots. :lmao: Would he be that successful with another team? Who know...but at this point in his career, who cares. You can't be on top forever, especially in the NFL...if it ended today, it was still a great run. I am hoping he wins one more SB by 2009.

The original post was funny. The people not realizing that and posting Brady's stats are even funnier.

MJ quote:"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."

I don't think anybody "hates" his accomplishments. I think there are people, though, who haven't fallen in love with the guy and attribute all the team's success to him. A lot of people have been around the game long enough to know that one guy in football is not responsible, alone, for the success/failure of his team, like he might be in basketball. He's a damn good QB, though.

Brady haters < Peyton haters. They just aren't as good at it.

However, it is funny watching Brady apologist do the same thing as Peyton apologist. It doesn't seem natural to me, so stop it.

Johnny,What are you referring to regarding the above bolded comments? I havent seen anyone saying that Brady played a great game Sunday.

I also think the Manning hatred is exaggerated. The guy had not come through in the playoffs to the point of getting his team to the big game. As I have said before, not once did Manning play great in the playoffs and his team lose. When they lost, it was mostly because he didnt play very well. Thats what happens when you are the focus of the team. I think Manning played Great Sunday and that is a big reason why they won (although their D had some big moments and if you want to say the Pats choked then that is fine too).

Manning got bashed because 9 years into his career EVERYONE expected he would have taken his team to a SB by then. Now he has. I dont think the bashing in the past was undeserved although some will tell you it was. Their defense was mostly Peyton's regular season accomplishments. Brady came up short this year and at least in Patriot Land he is forgiven because of his past playoff accomplishments. Not really the same thing to me.

Apologist are apologist either way, no matter how different it is explained. My point is that it has always been stupid to put the blame for losses on one person. Football is a team sport, and the Colts team had not played well enough to get them to a Super Bowl prior to Sunday, and that includes Manning, and especially the OL and defense. It's idiotic (I'm guilty of it also) to try and explain why one person isn't the reason for failure. I guess the media got caught up in it for the sake of selling newspapers, etc. They love the Manning vs Brady/Patriots demons.
