Personally, I thought this award should have gone to Randy Moss.

The guy who voted for Favre (don't remember the name, it was on PTI) is actually a HOF voter too. Very respected. In this case though he was WAY off since we all know ANY Pat, even the trainers and Aquification Purification Technician, were more deserving than, well, anyone. Must just be a HATER!!!!

Peter King was interviewing Brady a couple of years ago. King asked Brady why he signed a contract for only $10 mil. when Mike Vick had recently been signed for $14 mil. and Peyton had just signed for $16 mil.

Brady's response was something to the effect of "When I signed the deal the Patriots promised me that they would spend to the salary cap and bring in players to help us win games" and "... a million $ is 500K after taxes. what difference is it really. If I need more money I can always do a commercial or do a card show."

What Brady gave up finantially had a direct result in the players that now surround him... and his recent success as well as the success of his team.

Heck, I think JeMarcus Russell is getting paid more than Brady right now. He kind of gets it. Funny how that extra money he didnt need ended up in Moss' wallet. And not to demean QBs or any other players for wanting to be well-paid, but its rarely recognized that there've been many a NE player that have towed the team line and stayed put without chasing the money. Brady's just falling in line. And its pretty easy to respect. Btw, I would have liked to seen Moss win this award. He was an unstoppable force this year and that tandom was like none Ive ever seen in football. Full props to Randy Moss on an incredible season.

Brady was much more dominant at his position than Moss was at his. Brady led all QBs in TD passes, passer rating, passing yards, yards per attempt, completion percentage, and TD percentage. Moss led all WRs in TD receptions. That's it. He didn't even finish first in receptions or receiving yards among all WRs. Plus, Brady broke the TD passes mark by playing in the same number of games as Manning, the previous record holder, did, while Moss needed four more games than Jerry Rice played to break the TD receptions mark. So, given all of that, Brady was the more than obvious choice of Offensive Player of the Year (as well as the obvious choice for MVP on NE).

If you call 1 play actually "playing in a game" And that ignores the fact that as of week 16, Manning had thrown for more TDs than Brady had - with Brady being on a team sopecifically built to chase that record.
