Tony Romo on MNF (1 Viewer)

some interesting stats Yahoo news blurb reminded us of:

- Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo has thrown five touchdowns and 10 interceptions in his three career appearances on Monday Night Football. The Cowboys are 1-2 in those games.

- Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is 0-2 as a starter in his career against the Philadelphia Eagles at home. He has only thrown one touchdown in those two games while throwing five interceptions and getting sacked seven times.

Almost all the respected fantasy football sites has Romo near or on top of the QB rankings this week. I want to believe that things has changed this year for Romo and that he will win on MNF and throw more TDs than INTs, but just what has changed? (please don't say Jessica Simpson won't be there or she won't be wearing a pink Cowboys jersey). Will he fold under pressure again?

Does anyone think it might be wise to actually BENCH Romo this weekend if you have a quality backup such as Cutler, McNabb ( ), Rodgers, etc... ?

I've gone back and forth on this several times. I have Rodgers and feel like I should start him. Sure Romo has his down games and especially on MNF. But I keep hearing that whisper in my ear "don't bench your studs" so I'll take the leap of faith and start him. Maybe by tomorrow morning I'll change my mind.

first of all, if you actually buy into the jessica simpson as a distraction you're a guppie.second, Cowboys/eagles is a great rivalry. the eagles defense is no joke. Romo's had a couple less than stellar outings against this D, no doubt. but you gotta ask yourself if you see this continuing, or will Romo move past his past struggles with this D?ok i'm a Dallas homer. FWIW, i beleive Romo has a solid performance against the eagles this monday. i believe Romo has/will progress as an NFL QB. there are some that think he cant win the big one. fair enough, but i wouldn't bet against Romo. he doesnt seem to be bothered by criticism or failures. a key component to being a successful NFL QB (see Vince Young).that said, i can see the RB's getting the majority of the TDs again this week for Big D.if you have Cutler as a backup to Romo, be stoked, as he is an everyweek starter, imo.

I'm so sick of this as well. She has been to a bunch of his games, that game was the only one where she was in the stands. Fairly certain this isn't the first time some players GF has attended a game.

I'm sure Romo has had this game circled on his calendar (at least in his mind) for these very reasons. He'll want to exorcise these demons and will. He'll be prepared, as will Jason Garrett.Start him.

A few things....

Thes MNF stats are a bit misleading....if you remember it was on MNF when Romo was brought in for Bledsoe against the Giants....I believe he threw plenty of picks in that game

Jessica Simpson was at the GB game last year when he played well...

I think we should more be looking at how Romo has faired vs. Philly.....and it has been a rollercoaster.

I think Philly will be blitzing like crazy, and Romo will either beat it for a few huge scores or the game will go to the eagles....so it will be feast or famine.

For MNF purposes... it was until pretty recently that the Raiders were the winningest team in MNF history...

go ahead and put $ on the next Raiders monday nite game.
