Too much coffee, too early of a draft (1000 AM) prolly too much reading this board over the past two months and went a little overboard this morning. I've been a big promoter of VBD but I think I ignored things like bye weeks and team conflicts a little too much. My D lacks and had to compromise to put a starting lineup together. I had to drop Sean Jones because he has the same bye week as AJ Hawk and didn't draft a kicker. So had to do some waiver wire action. I'll post this in Assistant Coach as well but put this up here to argue VBD. As I have some regrets...
Must start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex (RB/WR/TE,) K and any three DefFlex.
Can too much VBD exist?

Right after the draft I sent out some trade offers but quickly rescinded them. You can only draft 2 QBs, 17 man total roster. The most notable trade being Losman and Foster (would give him CAR running game) for Culpepper and Cadillac. But that would leave me with Cutler and CPep at QB. Losman and Cutler are both week 6 byes but I think I am going to sit things out an wait just in case both blow up. The guy I proposed the trade went for WAY too much VBD IMHO and ended up with Jason Campbell and Daunte as his quarterbacks.
I never thought it could be but maybe there is the possibility of way too much VBD.

, but IMHO there's too much emphasis on VBD on this site. If the VBD list tells you to draft 4 RBs in the first 4 rounds and you do it, you're going to loose. I've gone through hundreds of drafts in DD in every different position and the majority of the time I come out with a better team if I draft on need FIRST and then value. If you draft ONLY by value, you can end up with too many starting caliber players at one position and not enough at another. Don't get me wrong, VBD is an extremely valuable tool, but it's one of a couple things you need to be aware of while drafting. I draft on need, value and player tier and, for me, it works better than ONLY value.
