TOO MUCH WHITE!!! (1 Viewer)

Changing functionality and fixing bugs I get, but why would that come with a mandatory reskin?

This skin desperately needs more contrast, and a more muted backdrop...

 
"next unread topic" option is nice and well placed, but wish it linked them from oldest to newest rather than the reverse.

 
Agree about it being too white, I need to turn down the brightness on my monitor for this specific website which kind of ####s the rest of my pages.

Also doesn't seem to have the option to remember my filter to show only threads I have posted in.

Some of it looks good but overall has a lot of problems.

Top right above the threads, click Sort By.  Click Custom.  Click Filter -> Topics I've Posted In.

I already found that filter but it doesn't seem to have the "Remember my choice" option that the last incarnation of the board did.  The one where the webpage automatically opens to the "Topics I posted in" filter, when I launch my browser or "Go back to the Shark Pool (FFA)" button at the bottom of every thread, instead of having to go through the Custom-->Filter-->Topics I've Posted In every time.

Last upgrade it started out the same kind of bright white and was soon adjusted to the blue backgrounds everyone got used to.  I'll be surprised if the same doesn't happen again, whether blue, going back to yellow as it was before blue, whatever.

 
Anybody try out the search function yet? I typed in Forte and got 3 results none of which were the main Forte thread and when I searched by thread title 0 results.

I'd say its as good as ever. Oh and I like that I can't preview a post before I submit.  1 step forward 3 steps back.

 
Looks like the Peyton Manning scandal thread is bugged up.

OK search function is only picking up threads that have been posted in since the update. Once I bumped the Forte thread it now shows up in the search. I guess it will work better over time.

 
There is a FBG skin that was meant to be the default but it didn't end up that way.  It's being worked on, so no this isn't how the board is going to look.

For things like PMs, search functions, and even some old post formatting to look right, a bunch of indexes have to be rebuilt. They are going through and rebuilding them.  PMs should be back soon. Posts and searches are going to take longer for pre-upgrade stuff to be right as those rebuilds take awhile.

First my system at work and now this. 

Most tilting thing is it taking me to the first page every time I open a thread on mobile.

I haven't tried mobile yet, but have you tried clicking on the star or dot the same as you would on a desktop?  Think people in the FFA indicated that was working.

 
I will admit I do not know jack about computers, programming, and creating websites.

However, I always thought if a site was going to do a new format launch that they could somehow have it completely done and test it out while current format would continue as-is. 

You know, so have basically two sites, then get rid of this one and switch to the new one once you make sure it is working and set up properly.

 I have been on so many message boards over the years, I don't even want to get into it.

 I have helped manage quite a few too.

 All I can tell you is that most any board worth a damn has the ability to change skins, and each user can use one that he likes or at least one he considers "manageable". Normally a few clicks and attempts and resetting it, then having a look at a few is all it takes to find one that is more pleasing to that particular user.

 I will admit that I haven't tried tinkering with this one much, but offhand I don't see a way we can customize this look at all.

 Is this board one of the very few that won't allow that???

 Or have the founders here simply locked that option, forcing us to use this one...?

 Not that it matters, but I would like to know the answer to this.

I agree with this.  I've always thought it was stupid to see team rosters in a signature.   I do like to put the leagues I've won from the previous season in my signature, but I can do without it because I don't really care.

Perhaps a light colored beige or light olive?  As a software developer I know this is a very important subject.  I agree this is blinding.  I feel as if I'm walking around the arctic circle and if I don't put charcoal under my eyes it will burn my cornea.
