So, that means the 10 remaining names are:

Le'Veon Bell

Tom Brady

Drew Brees

Antonio Brown

Aaron Donald

Todd Gurley

Julio Jones

Von Miller

Aaron Rodgers

Carson Wentz

How do you expect those 10 names to be ranked?

It is not often where a QB is the MVP of the Super Bowl, doesn't retire, and then can't even make the top 100 in the next season's list.

Not saying I would put Nick Foles on there, just pointing it out.

I'll take a stab at it:

10. Todd Gurley

9. Carson Wentz

8. Drew Brees

7. Von Miller

6. Le'Veon Bell

5. Julio Jones

4. Aaron Donald

3. Antonio Brown

2. Tom Brady

1. Aaron Rodgers

This is only the 2nd time where the MVP of the Super Bowl has failed to make the Top 100 the following year.  The other one who didn't make the list the following year was Malcolm Smith in 2014.

40. Tyreek Hill,  but no Mike Evans in the top 100?

I mention it because I have both and was thinking of keeping Evans over Hill.

I would definitely put Nick Foles in the top 100 over J.J. Watt. Watt started 5 games, with minimal impact, in 2018, vs. Foles, who started 6 games, which included 3 playoff wins and 2 regular season wins that clinched the best record in the conference. Foles' performance in both the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl would have to at least be in the discussion for greatest performances by a QB in the playoffs. Not saying they are the greatest, they would at least have to be in the discussion.

Earlier today, NFL Network announced the final 10 names for the list, and to the surprise of no one, they were the same 10 names that everyone had suspected.  However, on www.nfl.com, Adam Schein did manage to take his guess on how they would finish.  Here's what Adam Schein says:

10. Todd Gurley

9. Le'Veon Bell

8. Antonio Brown

7. Von Miller

6. Julio Jones

5. Drew Brees

4. Carson Wentz

3. Aaron Donald

2. Tom Brady

1. Aaron Rodgers

Interesting list. I can't disagree with anyone except Wentz. Rodgers gets on there not for what he did last year but his history of play and what he will do in 18. For Wentz, he was a top 10 player last year but are we are all really sold he is a top 10 overall NFL player moving forward? His TD efficiency last year was absurd (think Matt Ryan in 16 and Cam Newton in 15). He is almost surely going to come back to earth.

It's not a projection. It's top 100 players of 2018. Based on play in 2018, Wentz deserves top 5. I don't know if Rodgers deserves top 10 since he missed more than half the season.

The list is inconsistent- how can the #1 player have played less than half a season and his QBR was his 2nd worst of the last 9 seasons so it's not like he was on some historic level. Jimmy G is on there despite playing in what, 5 games? OBJ has 300 yards and 3 TDs and is on the list. It's just a popularity contest I suppose.

Totally agree that it is a popularity contest. It usually takes a year or two for the players who are voting to catch up to what happened on the field, both up and down.

2. Antonio Brown (Steelers WR)

1. Tom Brady (Patriots QB)

Does everyone believe the players got this list right?

That is super crazy high for Carson Wentz.
So Wentz was the probable MVP until his injury. He missed 3 games, but realistically he would have only missed two as he would have been rested the last week of the season. So #1 was Brady, the MVP, #2 was Antonio Brown who had a great season and was in discussion for the MVP, and #3 was Wentz who actually received the third most MVP votes.

The ranking is based on the 2018 season and based on that, I think Wentz's ranking is just right.

For 2018 when Rodgers only played in 7 games? And the Packers were 4-2 in games he started and finished? Seem reasonable to me.
I know you mean 2017 season, but the rankings are predictive for the 2018 season. I just think it's a bit early to annoint Wentz the #3 overall player. Rodgers, on the other hand, has a proven track record of success.

You're right, 2017. I don't consider it predictive. I assume they call it the top players of 2018 just because they release the list in 2018, not because they are being predictive of the 2018 season. But then again, I have no idea what they tell the players who vote.
